check you local yamaha dealer before buying. They can likely beat the price on all ebikes. i purchased the morrow 7 new for 500 less the online.

Purchased second one today. price went up slightly below is my invoice. price was 2247 (morrow 7) out the door.
For those thinking about getting an ebike but worried about not getting enough exercise, remember this: sitting on the couch thinking about riding your analog bike burns no calories. Riding your ebike because it's fun and you don't have to stress about a hateful hill climb or running out of energy far from home burns a lot more calories!
Apparently it's Yamaha ebike week on SD

Just order it directly from Velofix.com. No tax, no shipping, free delivery and assembly.
Be careful, I put in my cart and did a Paypal to see if tax was charged and where it said going back to REVIEW order, I already had been charged.

Is velofix an authorized yamaha dealer? In addition, has anyone placed an order through velofix for the bike and have a confirmation that the order has shipped? I am looking at this option since it doesn't appear that I am able to complete the transaction through the yamaha website and other dealers aren't willing to ship.

Did it come with multiple keys for the battery release?
I picked up my Wabash RT today. It came with 3 keys. Love the bike so far.

I placed my order on Friday 9/13 and got the call from my NC bike shop this afternoon 9/18 that my Wabash RT was ready - 5 days from order to delivery. I never received any shipping notification. My son and I even tried the Java Script / Developer Mode trick from the main thread and there was no indication the bike had shipped. My RT was on the charger at the bike shop when I arrived 30 mins after his call. He said he had built out 5 Yamaha ebikes this morning and had more coming. He joked that 70 percent of the job was removing all the packaging.

Ride impressions: I'm 5'10" / weigh 170 - with a 32 inch pants inseam (biking inseam for saddle position is a bit longer) I purchased a medium and the standover is spot on.

This is my first ebike, but my son has worked as a mechanic at ebike shops in Seattle and Idaho. From his experience, he has always liked Yamaha bikes and had helped a neighbor purchase one several years ago. Coming from road bikes and having been a somewhat serious cyclist just a few years ago I was somewhat unsure of how I would take to the wide flair bars. I can honestly say they suit this bike and are not at all awkward feeling. The bit of suspension in the seat post is nice. I've not yet used the dropper post while riding, but the switch and cable are less than elegant in their routing. I did switch out the Yamaha saddle for my preferred Fizik Aliante. I'm a Shimano guy and the GRX group feels great. The bike came with 3 keys.
The Auto mode is impressive! It really adjusts well to rider input and allows for fairly seamless shifting and acceleration. I can see using this mode a lot, depending on how much it impacts range. The Eco mode seems the most natural coming from a standard road bike as I'm used to providing more wattage. In my short term tests today, it felt like anything above Eco - (Standard & High) only required about 100-125 watts of energy on my part. Surprisingly casual efforts moved me along at 18-25mph.

To correct some misinformation that's out there on the web and YouTube.
The rear disc rotor is 160 and the front 180. Some reports state both are 180.
The mini-usb port is just for diagnostics and will not charge a phone or a light. There's a YT video from a bike show where the rep is clearly incorrect.
My dealer said he registered the bike and that I could expect my free battery in about 6 weeks. We shall see.
This feels like the deal of a lifetime on an ebike, especially considering the warranty and free battery. I'm completely satisfied. I'm very tempted to try and pick up another for the wife.

To remove the battery insert the key and turn. The cover to the battery pops out. The battery is still held in place by the holder so that it doesn't drop to the ground. After removing the battery, you can check the amount of charge remaining by pressing the button on the indicator. The battery can be charged on or off the the bike. It is an impressive battery system.

I stopped by Charlotte Cycles today after lunch around the corner. Saw 4 CrossCores in boxes, no Wabash, not to say yours wasn't somewhere. There's a gravel ride out of York SC on 9/28, 30 and 46 mile routes. Check the HopFly Bike & Brew FB page for the event.

Awesome, will do!! There seems to be more NC/SC ppl in this thread than I thought.

Ordered last Friday, got the email from Yamaha that the bike shipped on Monday. Managed to extract the tracking number, but stuck at Origin Service Center in CA until today.

Estimated delivery date to WA next Monday, is that possible?

Ordered 2 on Thursday last week, just got a call that the bikes were delivered to the dealer and will be assembled to be picked up tomorrow.

I want to put some road slicks on this, anyone know what size tires the rims accept? I can't find that info online.

700x45. You can carry it down to 700x38 (just confirm your rim can fit it) for even less rolling resistance but you start to chip away at off road capability and is less of a plush ride. I have the Specialized Nimbus 2 Sport, they have a 'reflect' version which has the reflective tape but it looks ugly IMO. I have 700x50 reflect on my MTB and even after I peeled the tape away, it's a discolored gray ring that visually separates the black rim from black tire and makes it look less 'racy'. The 45c black version is out of stock but in stock at 3rd party places. You can obviously go with any brand of your choosing. You'll want to try to go tubeless or go with latex inner tube. Latex helps rolling resistance over the typical butyl (tubeless is even faster)

It's a standard tire size, so, sure. But how narrow can you go? You'll have to take the stock tire off and measure the internal width of the rim, then look up an ETRTO chart to see the narrowest recommended (most tire manufacturers have such a chart on their website). Keep in mind that the advertised width of a tire may not align with actual value, especially as this varies due to internal rim width... so the narrowest may work on paper but not in actual practice.

You can also run wider tires that are smooth rolling, but narrower will roll faster. Also be aware that if you go too much narrower that will change the tire circumference and the bikes geometry slightly.

Another thing worth mentioning, for anyone reading who is not already aware, don't over inflate your tires as that will also slow you down. There are online tire pressure calculators to help get people in the ball park. An over inflated tire will be more resistant to conforming to the road surface and will bounce rather than rolling smoothly along.. this will also slow you down in addition to reducing traction and comfort.

Thanks. I've got a 29'er MTB and I have quite a bit of play in the size of tire I put on that bike. Interestingly, there aren't that many road slick tire options (on Amazon, at least) for the 45c rim size. I found some slicks for my 29'er that I used in a fundraising bike ride last year, and was hoping to find a similar set for this one. But so far, the majority of the non-stubby gravel bike tires are not road slicks, they are more like cross country tires. Might just need to go to my local bike shop after I pickup my Wabash and have them help me out. Not sure the Yamaha dealership is going to be of much help here.

What happens is that they print the label, which gets into the system. It's not actually shipped until you see a drop off and movement from the shipping company.

My Specialized Creo eBike came equipped with GRX, and I've read of others upgrading to Di2. So, with the Wabash RT having GRX components, it should be compatible.
