Ride impressions: I'm 5'10" / weigh 170 - with a 32 inch pants inseam (biking inseam for saddle position is a bit longer) I purchased a medium and the standover is spot on.
This is my first ebike, but my son has worked as a mechanic at ebike shops in Seattle and Idaho. From his experience, he has always liked Yamaha bikes and had helped a neighbor purchase one several years ago. Coming from road bikes and having been a somewhat serious cyclist just a few years ago I was somewhat unsure of how I would take to the wide flair bars. I can honestly say they suit this bike and are not at all awkward feeling. The bit of suspension in the seat post is nice. I've not yet used the dropper post while riding, but the switch and cable are less than elegant in their routing. I did switch out the Yamaha saddle for my preferred Fizik Aliante. I'm a Shimano guy and the GRX group feels great. The bike came with 3 keys.
The Auto mode is impressive! It really adjusts well to rider input and allows for fairly seamless shifting and acceleration. I can see using this mode a lot, depending on how much it impacts range. The Eco mode seems the most natural coming from a standard road bike as I'm used to providing more wattage. In my short term tests today, it felt like anything above Eco - (Standard & High) only required about 100-125 watts of energy on my part. Surprisingly casual efforts moved me along at 18-25mph.
To correct some misinformation that's out there on the web and YouTube.
The rear disc rotor is 160 and the front 180. Some reports state both are 180.
The mini-usb port is just for diagnostics and will not charge a phone or a light. There's a YT video from a bike show where the rep is clearly incorrect.
My dealer said he registered the bike and that I could expect my free battery in about 6 weeks. We shall see.
This feels like the deal of a lifetime on an ebike, especially considering the warranty and free battery. I'm completely satisfied. I'm very tempted to try and pick up another for the wife.

Awesome, will do!! There seems to be more NC/SC ppl in this thread than I thought.
Estimated delivery date to WA next Monday, is that possible?
Road bike not practical in my neighbourhood because of the terrain and slopes, so I may give up on road biking
I want to put some road slicks on this, anyone know what size tires the rims accept? I can't find that info online.

You can also run wider tires that are smooth rolling, but narrower will roll faster. Also be aware that if you go too much narrower that will change the tire circumference and the bikes geometry slightly.
Another thing worth mentioning, for anyone reading who is not already aware, don't over inflate your tires as that will also slow you down. There are online tire pressure calculators to help get people in the ball park. An over inflated tire will be more resistant to conforming to the road surface and will bounce rather than rolling smoothly along.. this will also slow you down in addition to reducing traction and comfort.
