Depending on the fan bearing used, mounting it vertically can be better for longevity (sleeve bearing) or potentially worse (ball bearing). The higher end cards have hopefully switched to FDB, but there's no guarantee on the lower end brands.
If you plan to stick with the stock cooler, check what your card came with and understand what maintenance looks like for each bearing type.

It's not a perfect solution, as it should have an arm to keep the card from torquing sideways, but it's better than the careless mounting solutions in some of these cases.

The weight is less of a factor because it's all a relative design.

It comes with a pcie riser but be careful cause they can vary from pcie3x16 or pcie4x16
thermal take was insane to make people pay $80 for a straight pcie riser (i have a thermal take core p3 pro)
