Additional question / scenario for you. Once phone arrives and I activate it, text unlock, etc. At that point can I then pop out / swap out the sim with my existing postpaid verizon phone. (essentially I just what my main phone line on this moto phone)
It's locked, doesn't work with verizon before it gets unlocked

But Isn't Total Wireless operated by Verizon? They are the same company.

I thought someone mentioned earlier in thread it should work without an unlock but I'll have to try and find it.

Edit- Well from what I am reading online, you appear to be correct. It seems like I will have to wait the 60 days.. Frown So shiny new phone will have to sit in a drawer doing nothing.

Basically total wireless/straight talk/simple mobible/tracfone... share the same "lock policy" and phones from one brand can work with sister brands without unlocking.

But even they are owned by verizon now, they don't share the same "lock policy". Use iPhone as example: if you check lock status on sickw.com, iPhones from total wirless will showed as locking to "tracfone", while phones from verizon will show as locking to "verizon"

Don't remove the SIM card from the phone after the first month service is ended. Keep it until phone is fully unlocked after 60 days.
Incorrect information. There is no need to have original SIM card in to get the unlocked for the September order , I just got it unlocked without the deactivated SIM.

if you never put the sim to phone, that would be fine. But if the sim has been put into another phone, that could cause trouble for unlocking. I bought two phones at same time long time ago and I moved sim for one phone and I didn't for another phone. Then at 60 days mark one phone get unlocked automatically and for another phone I had to call tracfone to get it unlocked

Thanks for the data point. When I activated, I saw new number was an option, but I wasn't brave enough to try it.
Same here plus i already paid the $3 unlock fee 🤷

If you have metro or tmobile, sure. Otherwise you have to wait a year for it to unlock.

Maybe still 180 days. It seems at least metro doesn't enforce the 1 year rule on some models right now.

Your Moto Edge 2024 automatically unlocked or you had to call? I've done tracfone deals with iphones and pixels, which were automatic, but not sure about Motorolas.

Things changed last summer, you need to read the most recent unlock policy. I've had several Motorola phones auto unlock.
