I have this, nothing special. It's a self leveling level. Did a few back splashes with this and use it for hanging pictures. Works well and lines are bright.

This model was a piece of junk for me. Completely died about a year and a half after purchase. Light usage and kept in the house the whole time.

I have it and its aweful...will draw a 45 degree line as level. Cant trust it at all and as mentioned above it blinks

Uh yeah? Wouldn't you want to know if it's not level.
It's a pendulum that reflects the laser, the unit can only be so far off level to work properly. Just adjust the base unit.

Got this last deal around. Used it to hang up frames twice. Mounted on a tripod , eyeballed the level, then turned it on and would self level (wasn't so off that it would keep blinking every few seconds). The vertical line especially helpful with frames portraits style - longer height of the vertical made it more accurate and easier to 'level' vs its shorter width. Especially helpful with 2+ more frames you need to line up (beats having to draw dots/lines everywhere you need to level other frames)

The clamp mount has the same threads as a camera and I use the mount for my cameras all the time. It's excellent. The level also does its job.. I think the people complaining about it not being level aren't releasing the pendulum?
