I recommend you wait. I bought my Samsung Odyssey G7, 32 inches, 4k for $350 plus tax.

That's a VA Panel though. Not IPS

How is that better than this 34-inch Ultrawide IPS?

Thanks, not sure why it was thumbs down. I saw a side by side comparison and both look beautiful. Was 4k the only thing that made you choose Samsung over the LG?

Honestly I think this is a pretty good deal if you're looking for gaming. Comparable Samsung's and Dell Alienware go for $700 easy and those fall into the high end 34" ultrawide segment. This is high FPS and IPS with good color accuracy, solid brightness, etc.

IF you only need a work monitor than you can save a few bucks and get a "lower" end 34" IPS display that only does 60 hz.

LG generally makes good panels and somehow I feel is underrated.

Also, a good monitor is an investment that will last a a little while longer. Where as there is always a new CPU or GPU out next season, you can keep the same screen as long as you're happy with it and it meets your needs.

My LG 4k ips 27" 165hz oc monitor has better qc than two Dell ips gaming monitors I've bought. The backlight bleeding is very unnoticeable, and the colors are very vibrant. Wonder if Alienware is better qc. Definitely want to try Lgs new Oled. Although why is burn in still a thing? I remember plasma tv burn in, even oled on phones are still having the same issues as a decade ago. Where is the refinement?
