How does this compare to the kamado joe for about $100 more? Will they rust out at about the same rate as each other?

I own 5 Weber kettle and then I bought this. I'm getting rid of Weber grills and keeping this. it maintains the temperature cook faster, smoke longer. Even in a single degree temperature outside, it does not loose the temperature. The only issue is, it catches water whenever it rains no matter how heavy cover I put it on top. I can use the whole 20-in diameter as cooking space and does not need any charcoal basket or vortex like I do in Weber. you just use a heat deflector Stone that you can buy from Amazon for about 30 bucks.

One could argue this is slightly easier to maintain. The Kamado Joe stuff is ceramic and these are steel. The steel will rust so technically the ceramic should last longer, but it is more prone to cracking when moving. The Akorn won't crack and is lighter.

I've had one for about 7-10 years that is starting to rust through (left outside with a cover under an awning at our old house but the elements still took its toll). For this price it can't be beat.
