For primary PC players, XBOX Series X remains the best console for the TV. It's the only one where you can buy a game that works on both PC and XBOX for one price, and also has cloud saves that work cross platform. So you can play a bit on your PC, then if you want to go relax on the couch switch to XBOX without missing a beat - and vice versa, at no extra cost. PS5 simply isn't capable of doing that, and thus less valuable for those who don't want to be forced into deciding whether to play their games only on console or only on PC. This gap will widen even further once XBOX adds third party PC storefronts like Steam/Epic, as they said was their long term strategy earlier this year.
Disclaimer: I own a PS5, Xbox Series S, Series X, and 4080 gaming PC.

I slightly disagree with your statement. You will spend at least $700+ to build a comparable PC. As far as the PS5 goes, I agree that it's better, but I don't regret buying my Series X.

Don't buy this. Buy ps5 or build a PC. Xbox is done for -> owner of One S and Series X here.

Xbox Play Anywhere is actually a hidden gem most don't talk about. I didn't get into PC gaming until 2021 and I love the dual ownership ability and cross platform progress. Also, Quick Resume is amazing too. Although Sony dominated this generation, they don't have either feature.

That is true. However, PS5 has been a better experience for me. I just got fortunate that I missed the PS3-PS4 era so all of the remakes and remasters don't bother me. And if you play that Grand Turismo with a racing wheel and PSVR2, game over. I got my own Dave and Buster's at home lol
I play primarily on PC, so being able to play my PC stuff on TV is the most important feature. I am hoping the next XBOX, or even the current one with a software update, becomes a hybrid XBOX/Steam box - it sounds like Microsoft is trying to make that happen.

A console as its own exclusive ecosystem seems a bit a relic of the past to me given the rise of PC gaming.

I'm probably going to pick this up. Bonus offer, if you're a total+ member, you get 60 days for price matching so if it drops lower, I can ask for a price matching. Also, I saw there's currently 10% points back for Credit Card holders, so it comes out to $380 with the 10% back, and $25 GC.

Yep. Hopefully they do something different. I'm glad that Sony saw the light to bring some titles to the PC. Xbox is going to have to shake some things up.

By all means, save as much as you can. I actually forgot about the 60 day return policy that can be used with price matching. I just got the $50 membership to take advantage of certain deals.

I was thinking of picking this up but am actually getting the 2TB version. Despite it seeming to be overpriced, I need as much space as I can get due to my big game library. Will be using the 2TB expansion card with the 2TB XSX for a total of 4TB. My old xbox got damaged a couple years ago and have been meaning to replace.

What makes an Xbox worth having is Game Pass and getting slickdeals on Game Pass. Getting Game Pass for less than $40 a year, that is where it is at.

Yep. This.

As a long time PC gamer, I love my Series X. I got it 3 years ago and have enjoyed how Game Pass Ultimate works with both the Series X and my PC. I totally get the argument about PS5 having better exclusives, but I haven't bought a game in 3+ years, since I find that Game Pass always gives me sufficient options.

Sorry to hear about your console being damaged. I actually pre-ordered the Carbon Black version too to use with a 2TB Expansion Card. My library is a moderate size and I use my Series S as a back up for games I don't care too much about the graphics. My main issue is that the optimized games take up a lot of space so I don't like uninstall/reinstall or transfer games between drives. Also my backlog is huge of unfinished games and titles I haven't started yet lol. I did pre order the PS5 Pro that I'm planning to install my 4TB SSD....yep it's safe to say I'm gonna run out of space anytime soon lol
