No because it'll cause the brakes to slip, use brake clean on the rotors, silicone paste on the sliding pins and anti seize on the brake pads hardware. If it's making a grinding metal noise, your brake pads is low and needs to be changed.

Good question. I have a 10/22 that starts slowing down because the bolt and upper receiver rub. Especially noticable after many subsonic rounds.

Just read that silicone oil will move due to gravity and "combustion". Silicone grease stays where you put it.

You're looking at WD-40 Brand, silicone spray. I think the original question is regarding the original WD-40 product, which is not a silicone lubricant. If you're comparing just silicone sprays, they're all about the same regardless of brands.
