All Straight Talk/Tracfone/Verizon/Visible/Total Wireless phones will Auto Unlock in 60 days after activation.
For all cellphones Activated with TracFone on the T-Mobile or AT&T networks on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked upon customer request after twelve (12) months of active TracFone service.
For all cellphones Activated with TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically, sixty (60) days after Activation.
I'm pretty sure they don't activate on anything but verizon now.

I'm not familiar with all the networks and services. Will T-Mobile prepaid work with this phone once the three months are up and it is unlocked?
Edit: Gotta love people who downvote rather than just ignore or gasp, maybe even answer a question. As far as I'm aware from the last time I'd bought a phone certain networks won't work on certain phones due to GSM vs CDMA or some such distinctions, at least for T-Mobile legacy prepaid. I can't seem to find that information despite looking through this entire thread (all thirteen pages prior to my post, with maybe one instance of it being asked but never answered) or on the product page. I guess I'll just have to go without this and hope my current phone holds out.

For just the phone, yes. For phone + 3-months unlimited plan - not so bad for those who need it. This is $350 unlocked on Amazon.

I went with Total for two Edge $135 total with one month service, $65 (first) + $30 (second) + $40 (taxes). Just needed the phones to unlock after 60 days.
Do you need to port in existing numbers?

Just got mine, came up with visible as carrier for some reason so swapped my visible esim and it's working, anyone need the straight talk plan at a good price just needed the phone pm me
In the box they sent with the phone did they include the service pin or was it on one of the emails?

On my order it wasn't in the box or in an email.

Edit: I've been on chat support and finally got them straightened out on what needed to happen. The support person added my 3 month service to my my existing line from the other device. This was a major PITA, but it did get solved.

Does anyone know if the remote unlock will work if you are already overseas and connected through WiFi? I will be transferred internationally after December but hoping the phone would be available for a local SIM after the 60 days.

If we purchased two Moto G Power 5G 2024 phones from Straight Talk earlier this year, but let the service expire, can we purchase additional phones on the same account?

Or is it recommend to make a new Straight Talk account with a new email address?

Thanks in advance!

Of Note:

This phone should support the wired version of Motorola's ReadyFor feature (and is probably the lowest cost "new" device to do so) It's similar to Samsung's DeX mode, essentially giving your phone the ability to turn into a mini desktop by plugging it into a USB-C dock/adapter.

I figured it'd be fun to play around with.

You don't have to make a new account. You can login to your account and delete those old phones.

You have to contact support to remove inactive phones, customer can't do it.
(Both of my G Powers from summer are still there, now inactive).

Not sure what to tell you. I removed an inactive phone from my account when speaking to support last week while waiting for them to fix a different problem I had.

Manage Lines -> Devices -> Then click "remove from account" on whichever devices you want to remove.

Isn't that what I said?
Remove from account brings up message to contact support.

I didn't have to contact support to do it though. I just happened to be talking to support at the time.
