- Eligibility and Enrollment
- Enrollment is limited. Eligible Card Members must first add offer to Card and then use same Card for qualifying spend. Only US-issued American Express Cards are eligible.
- Limit of $20 in total statement credits per eligible Card Member. If the Card Account is canceled or past due, it may not qualify to receive the statement credits.
- Qualifying Purchases
- Offer valid for in-store and online eligible purchases at U.S. Supermarkets. An "eligible purchase" means a purchase made with your enrolled Card at a U.S. supermarket location by 12/31/2024. "Supermarket" means a standalone merchant in the U.S. primarily selling supermarket products. Excludes gasoline purchases and gift card purchases. Specialty Food Stores, Superstores, Convenience Stores, Small Corner Grocery Stores, and Warehouse Clubs are not considered Supermarket stores. Excludes pharmacy and indoor vendor purchases such as coffee shops and restaurants. Offer valid only on purchases made in US dollars.
- Offer only valid on purchases made directly with the merchant. Offer not valid on purchases made using third parties, such as resellers, delivery services, or other intermediaries.
- Statement Credit
- Please allow 90-days after 12/31/2024 for the statement credit(s) to be posted to the Account, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.
- Participation in Amex Offers is subject to Amex Offers Program Terms [americanexpress.com].

Careful with these minimum spends. They will often lie to you. A number of times I have gotten cash back without hitting that mimimum spend. Ollies is the latest example. Said I had to spend $50 but I only spent like $9 and they gave me cash back on that $9.

I have other cash backs that are more. Spend 750 at Versace get more than 20 back. But you don't need Versace like you need groceries. Supermarket is as practical as it gets

Yet, I know that if I get a physical gift card (ex. Amazon) at my local Kroger and check-out, I don't see how there is any way for AMEX to see that it was a "Gift Card purchase". AMEX is only going to see my total charged at Kroger - they don't see down to the individual items I purchase.
Does anyone else have some data-points on this to verify? I'm going to try it later this weekend or early next week - so I'll report back then my own experience but figured I'd ask for now.
BTW, another Data Point - this was only on 1 (Amex Everyday Silver card) out of 5 different flavors of AMEX I currently hold btwn me and family.
I buy gift cards at Kroger all the time with my gold card and always get the 4x for groceries. I assume this would be the same. It just shows a charge for Kroger they have no clue what you bought
I've gotten away from AMEX cards with Annual Fees (for now) and maintained enough cards to maintain my Membership Rewards points balance (after transferring them from my closed Amex Platinum).
I have one card that I generally will get most of my offers on, while the other cards just seem to get a small amount of leftover Amex offers but occasionally, my main Amex card won't have one of the great offers on it, while one of my dog Amex cards will.
