Bought this about a year ago, same price. Good deal for how powerful it is. Sucks everything you throw at it and use it in the shop with woodworking tools, table saw, with a Dust Deputy cyclone. It's large and loud but can't be beat for the price. If you're looking for something quieter, the Dewalt Stealthsonic is incredibly quiet.

I let someone borrow my 16 gallon ridgid vac after their house was flooder for helene and it was pretty much destroyed by all the dirt and sand and couldn't be cleaned, but it got the job done. This is a good replacement for me since i still have all the car detailing hoses and attachments. Thanks, OP!

I got the 4 gallon with built in blower - amazing power (almost too much) for it's size and it ain't huge! I think I paid $80. 1-7/8in hose

Does anyone know how the hose is on this one? I've had a rigid shop vac for at least 10 or 15 years, and while sure it sucks just great, the hose is crap. It's this stiff plastic that doesn't flex at all and kinks every time you try to bend it. Only reason I haven't junked the thing is because it still works. But I'm tired of putting up with this stupid stuff hose.

Ridgid makes high quality wet/dry vacs. I'm not sure what broke in yours, but I have put thousands of gallons of water and done countless hours of demo in addition to stove cleanouts through my 12 gallon 5HP over the past 20 years and it continues to work well. Very simple design, if something fails with regular use ridgid will repair or replace it under warranty.
