Is this better/worse/equal to the 34" Dell ultra-wide that was on sale for $200 a few days ago? Ordered that one but wondering if this one is better to justify returning the Dell.

I believe that dell was a va panel, so would be better for "gaming" since it has a way higher refresh rate. This one is ips which is only 60hz. However probably has better viewing angles fpr productivity like photo and video editing.

Am I crazy thinking you can get a 'good enough' curved ultra wide for $200? Is that my target price with something lower being a really slick deal? Monitor watchers, help me out. I just bought an ikea brannboll and need one big wide monitor vs my typical dual setup.

Thanks. If planning to use as dual purpose (work and gaming), would VA or IPS be more preferable?

Is it worth to pay $100 more for Nano IPS 34GN850-B? I don't plan to game on it. Just light office work and browsing. Thanks for your advise in advance.

Anyone know if this has HDMI 2.1? It doesn't say in the specs.

The one you linked also is significantly brighter (400 nits vs 300). might be a consideration, though I'm not a monitor expert.

I am debating between the two for office work and light gaming. The 34GN850-B is much better for gaming spec-wise, but it doesn't have picture-by-picture whereas this one does. It would be nice to connect my work computer and personal computer to the same screen and use them side-by-side sometimes.

Just a note for those considering buying directly from LG, the return process is a huge pain.

I bought 2 34" monitors last deal and decided to only keep one (dual 34" is ridiculously wide). Here's how the return went:
  • Easy claim form to be filled out
  • Wait 3-5 days no response
  • Get email confirmation that return IS BEING REVIEWED
  • 2 days go by, random LG person calls and asks me about why i'm returning. Can't confirm return, says I have to wait for an email confirm/approval
  • 5 days go by and finally get return approved
  • 2 days later LG sends me return label, drop off same day
  • 5 days go by with no confirmation of receipt of monitor, no communication at all
  • 2 days go by and finally see a credit (LESS 20% cost) but still no communication from LG
Yea, do yourself a favor and buy from Costco, Best Buy or somewhere you can deal with in store.

If you don't want the pbp feature, yeah 34gn85 is better.

JFC why can't I find the radius? 1000r? 1500… ?? Edit. It's 3800r. So basically NOT curved at all. Wtf. That's a flat farkin monitor. Good price but "curved" is marketing BS
