Note: Your Redemption Bonus will vary from 10% to 50% depending on the type of Chase card you have. Your credit card will be charged the full remaining dollar amount over your points redemption; for example, if you choose to buy Apple merchandise at $120 at $1.50 redemption value (50% bonus), and you use 4,000 points ($40 worth of points w/ 50% bonus = $60), your credit card would be billed for the remaining $60.

I guess returns are not accepted for these purchases unless there is some defect/ damage. Something to keep in mind. I learnt it the hard way
Points go 50% further, it's not 50% off. Here's an example of a $100 item:
10,000 points = $100
what amount of points (define as X) * 150% = 10,000?
1.5X = 10,000 --> X = 10,000/1.5 = 6,667
with 50% bonus, $100 = 6,667 points, a savings of 3,333 points (10,000 - 6,667)
3,333/10,000 = 33%, or a 33% savings
said another way:
normally $1 = 100 points, but with the 50% further $1 = 100/1.5 = 66 points
Old Price = 100 Points
New Price = 66 Points
Change = (New price - Old price) / Old Price = (66 - 100) / 100 = -33/100 = -33%

It's only when you have the Chase Reserve card when you received the 50% discount. Otherwise, if you have the "Preferred", you'll only received 20% discount instead of 25% as stated above!

Travel through chase portal for hotels isn't always the best deal when comparing to other websites. Yes you get 33% discount using the 50% more value but I always better value for my buck with other websites. Now, yes if you just want to buy with points and not pay $$ then it's worth it but there are better things for the value to use. I find getting apple products for this deal is so much better.
Rentals booking through chase is terrible. I can find better rental prices using CarRentals.com and compare.
The discounted price = ( Cost ) / ( 1.5 )
Dividing by a number is the same as multiplying by its inverse
1.5 = 3/2
Discounted price = ( Cost ) x ( 2/3 )
That's 1/3 off as trooper1414 said.

Others have suggested this, but I'll be more direct/blunt. If you've got a Chase Sapphire Reserve card and...
You plan to book flights and/or a hotel in the next year or two
Up for doing a bit of learning & research on using airline/hotel points? Save your Chase points for that (transferring them later to supported airline or hotel partner programs).
Don't want to bother with that? Use your points to book hotels with points (booking airfare via Chase is a bit more iffy).
Aren't planning to travel in the next year or two?
Want to buy something recently released from Apple? This Chase points discount is probably a decent deal for you, so go for it!
Want to buy (probably less-recent) stuff from Apple that's often discounted? Then this is an okay but fairly meh points deal.
Freedom is giving me 25 percent too . Would be the same if I traded my 12 pro max. I wish we can do trade in with this deal or got the 50 percent . I canceled my sapphire beginning of the year ugh.

Just know these aren't through Apple directly. The 3rd party is very difficult to work with if you have an issue. See this Reddit forum: https://www.reddit.com/r/Chase/s/gMmLWhY5Nb
This is one of the worst ways to waste your Chase UR points, you get just about 1.5 cents per point.
Yes, and remember this redemption value used to be standard for just about any redemption of points for CSR including being able to just apply a "pay yourself back" statement credit. I guess Chase thought we had forgotten...
For MacBook Air and Pro, it does not let you buy 16Gb/256Gb. For air you can only buy 16Gb/512Gb and Pro 16Gb/1Tb. So they force you to upgrade spending $400.
Cheap and greedy tactics by Apple and Chase.
So, a few years ago, when Chase had just set up their "Apple Store", I attempted to purchase an Apple laptop. I had the points to burn and went ahead with the purchase. Well, many weeks after getting a confirmation for my order, still no word on when it would ship.
I contacted them and they did not know when it might actually ship? They couldn't give me a date so, I canceled my order with Chase. I ended up purchasing directly from Apple.
A few weeks after that, I was surprised to see my cancelled laptop from Chase at my door. Now I had two identical new laptops. I called Chase and asked for a return authorization. They seemed very confused, not knowing how to proceed.
After some time on hold, they came back and said that "you may keep the item". I was kinda shocked and documented everything. I didn't get a full credit for the points I spent, but almost all of them.
This was awhile ago and they may have improved their ordering and shipping,

Whoa no need to show off there bro but damn what a steal
Great deal for those that have a lot of points and were going to buy a new Apple product at full price anyway. You get to keep the extra benefits like Purchase Protection and Extended Warranty when paying with points.
The self-proclaimed point experts are going to tell you that this is a terrible deal because you can get a better "value" booking travel with points. What they don't realize is not everyone is looking for a 4 cent pp redemption on a round trip business class flight to Zimbabwe.
There are TONS of ways to redeem points for business class flights , and it is definitely not limited to Zimbabwe. If you're going to criticize something at least be knowledgeable and not spread misinformation
Unfortunately the sapphire preferred only offers 25% or I would've probably done it
I see this also, 25% for preferred. I originally acquired the points via Reserve, but downgraded to Preferred after first year to stop paying the annual fee.

Yup- in the past year alone gotten way more than 1.5c a point on business class flights to both Japan and Peru. And heck you can routinely beat 1.5c with coach and hyatt hotel bookings too.
This is a poor deal for travelers. it's fine for those who don't travel (but in that case there's better rewards ecosystems for you to operate in most days if you can for example get Plat Honors status with BoA)
