For smaller bolts and parts, such as spark plugs, oil drain plugs, and other mid-sized fasteners.
For larger jobs, like suspension and engine work, The 1/2-inch drive torque wrench with a range of 25 to 250 ft-lbs is often necessary.

The DIY (almost free) method requires hanging a known amount of weight a specific distance from the center of the head, using a formula to calculate how much torque that SHOULD be, and then adjusting the wrench to that reading. You could possibly cheat with a digital adapter, but that's still $40-$100, at which point if you trust it enough to calibrate your torque wrench, just use it instead and trash your torque wrench.
don't get the cheap 1/4 HF one. The clicks are too soft.
Both addresses worked from my personal account. Same zip codes with each account.

I have a $$$ Snappy at home, but I use the HF on the road for service calls - works just fine.
