Yellow on mine as well. Looks like the night light/shift function baked permanently in the screen. Annoying

What's the best way to get rid of all the bloatware on this. Clean windows install and redownlaod all the drivers from hp?
That's probably the way to go. I'm gonna do that when I get home from work today and see if it cures the yellow hue. Lots of hp bloat in there.

I try to look in setting and couldn't find the control for adjustment. Most controls are very high level. Hate these changes on windows.
It's in Intel display app.

At first I thought it looked like HDR was turned on with a display that does HDR badly. Could be something in the power saving functions that turns on night light. I'm not at home right now so can't check it. Could be software related but why they would release it like that out of the box is beyond me. A clean windows install via usb might fix it.

You know what it is? This is a fricken TN panel. This ain't no IPS panel. This just won't do. Side views are atrocious. It's going back for sure. How can you tell? AN IPS panel can get all black, A TN panel can't. Look at these photos. The Victus on the left and my HP Pavillion with an IPS on the right. The Pavillion can get all black.

I have brought several laptops at the 400- 450 price point, this one is about the same as they have been when you find good deals, expect you have a 144hz screen which in nice. I would say this is a good deal for good specs, I am not sure if Intel is having issues with their laptop CPU's like their desktop's, you should look into that and if they are good then keep it. If they also degrade, return it.
thanks for the feedback...i'll grab 2 sticks on 16gb ram and a 2tb for the drive

Does your ram has the same specs? I rather do 8gb2x or 16gb 2x. Sure you get 8gb more but if the timing and other don't match.
fyi, experimented on memory upgrade options: Was able to install 2x32gb ddr4-3200 for a total of 64GB RAM. Although the BIOS shows 0MB for RAM, Windows shows the full 64GB and runs fine. Also tried one 32gb stick and one existing 8gb stick, both the BIOS and Windows show 40GB RAM.

Not only that, but in the picture, the Victus shows the wallpaper as green. It should be blue.

Opened it and picture is below. Dual SODIMM slots. Unfortunately, HP cheaped out and even though there is a place for SSD#2, they didn't solder a m.2 connector there. Saved a buck at the expense of what could have been a major upgrade feature.

Attachment 16527912

Bad news #2: The USB-C port does not charge at all. It comes with a pretty heavy 200W charging brick and it would be nice to just have a tiny 90W charger plugged in when doing normal non-gaming stuff to keep it charged.
Does that mean it maxes out with 16gb of RAM?

No.. the max RAM is whatever the CPU limit is (96GB for this CPU). So 64GB in theory since 32GB is the biggest per DDR4 stick being produced

It is atrociously washed yellow. Can't believe HP would skimp on the very thing you're looking at 99% of the time no matter how good the other specs are

Got it, thanks. I'll work on swapping a 32gb stick in for the 16gb that accompanies it.

Would this one work?

Yes that will work

Keep in mind from another poster's image here the stock configuration is 2x8GB. If you buy that kit it's a 2x16GB and you have to swap both
