i'm no expert but what i usually do: buy it for in store pickup, when the pickup deadline is near, you can extend it for another week.

This should give you enough time to see if there's any better BF deal

I'm confused why this is being advertised as 2k (1440p), when the listing clearly shows the screen is fhd (1080p)*. Am I overlooking something?

*1200p, but same density as 1080p. Just 16:10 instead of 16:9

That's probably because of the aspect ratio. Similar thing for a 2.8K display on a 16:10 and 3K display on a 16:9.

Bestbuy's sketchy marketing thingy. 16:10 used to be called with a plus suffix (FHD+, QHD+), now suddenly a 16:10 1080p is "2K", when many people associate that with QHD.

Edit: for example, this one is called FHD+ laugh out loud

for the casual laptop buyers, please note that the display on this is 45% NTSC. It is certainly expected in this price range. 16" touch w/ full color gamut is easily $800+. i would recommend heading into your local BB, put this next to fuller gamut display, and see how much this matters to you.
