Edit: So besides the glass lid, the Costco model looks like it also includes a ladle and spatula (based on what I see in the product images)
I've been on the lookout for something a bit 'nicer' to upgrade the one I got 7+ years ago @ $20, and I think this fits the bill. Thanks OP

Good thing this is @ Costco so you can return whenever if there are any intermittent problems like you described..
As for the vent... Luckily for me, I've got a spot where I can put it mostly under a cabinet but not block the vent on the right side.
ETA: Also, As someone who was gifted this oven, there's a really steep learning curve. I have only had it a little over a month but there are hardly any recipes anywhere for it. There's little to no instruction in the booklet it comes with for general use besides "guides" that you basically just have to guesstimate with. I don't mind this as I have just been creating my own recipes, but most of the reviews I have read even about the booklet recipes say that they aren't accurate. I would imagine after learning the power and time on standard things you can use it with more ease but the last month has been a lot of trial and error and overcooked meat, which has never happened to me in my life.
I've done a few "combi" recipes that were really good

I rarely use the steam option to cook food. When you open the door, condensation gets everywhere and it's just not worth the hassle for me. I have a rice cooker that can steam with less effort. However, the steam option makes clean up a breeze. I just let the steam run, put on some heat resistant gloves, and go to town.
The air fryer option is nice. I also got a three tier rack on Amazon and it works really well with it because there is so much space in there. It doesn't fit a whole frozen pizza easily. I have broken one in half and have the round sides overlap.
