Got my Verizon iPhone today. added a payment method on my new Verizon account.
dialed 8008374966 and provided the new phone number
Said "pay off device" when asked the reason for calling and follow the prompts.
Fully paid the 299$ for the device with Automated system without talking with a live person.

Then called in and spoke to a live person and canceled the line.

Last time a bunch of us did this, I believe we learned that the clock starts ticking for the Verizon 3 day cancellation when the phone ships. Thus it was recommended to only buy in store and not for shipping. I was able to buy in store, create account, call Verizon to pay in full and then cancel all within 24-36 hours.

If you're waiting 3 days for the shipment I don't see you getting out of the activation fee.

  • Save up to $1,000: bill credits of $27.78/month over 36 months with trade-in of eligible smartphone valued at $230 or higher for iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max.
36 months of bill credits and a e-gift card, what am I missing that makes the upcoming deal "better" that this deal?

Edit, I did the math on purchasing the iPhone 15 125gb model without a trade in and it works out to be around the price of the iPhone 14 250gb in this thread. I'm assuming the gift card is the equivalent of cash for you and your state tax rate isn't too ridiculous.
Assuming 6% tax:
iPhone 15 128 - $650 + $39 tax - $500 GG = $189
iPhone 15 256 - $750 + $45 tax - $500 GC = $295

Plus 3 days of service (about $7-$10) to avoid activation fee. Deal is better assuming you treat the GC as cash which some won't.

No details for trade AFAIK but shouldn't matter for the purpose of this deal. Even if you add a line of service, you may get a better deal that way.

In my case, no regrets on doing the 14s as I needed the phones to be unlocked by mid January

Ordered as an upgrade on current AT&T line. Activated once delivered (no fee for current line), and paid off through website. Website said it was elegible for unlock after I paid off, but when I tried it told me to wait 48 hours. 48 hours later, requested again, immediatley accepted. Transferring phone number back to my old phone and giving this to my daughter for Christmas (currently on free Spectrum line, so unlock necessary). $318.81 with taxes.

Is there any technical difference between the AT&T iPhone and the Verizon iPhone in this deal? I believe ones bought at Verizon had mmWave but wasn't sure that applied to this.

That would be a a nice price, but I am only seeing a $350 gift card for the iPhone 15 125GB models. The $500 gift card is for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will cost $1111.98 ($29.24 x 36 months plus 6% sales tax) with your tax - $500 GC = $611.98 plus any activation and/or line fees.
Please feel free to correct me if I've missed something.

Nope, it's the same phone and they are flex locked so gets locked to the carrier it is first activated with.

Can you explain how you come up with all these numbers?

I suspect as it was an upgrade on a current active line, concerns about theft/fraud are negligible and there's no reason to keep me on the hook to pay for 60 days of service as I've been a customer for 15+ years. I was nervous, as I really didn't want to give a Christmas present that couldn't be used until mid-January. My daughter will be so psyched. Many thanks to OP for this deal!

Yeah, from what I have seen that customer service reps can override any unlock requirements and unlock your phone once they realize that you don't plan on leaving ATT

Hey ProudToBeAnIndian,Firstly, thanks a lot for posting awesome deals and this iPhone 14 deal is awesome too. I needed your help to understand the balance payment process after we disconnected the line and I am doing this for the first time. For me, the last bill(Oct 14, 2024 - Nov 13, 2024) shows around $123 due on 11/11/2024. I purchased the phone on 11/12/2024. The next bill(Nov 20) shows -$63.17. My questions are - 1. when the next bill comes tomorrow, will the overall price be adjusted i.e., 123 - 63 = 60$. 2. Will the next bill come in mail and I can pay online and be done with all the pending charges? 3. Anything else to consider or take care of?
Did you receive the updated final bill after that? please update when you get the final bill.

I just tried to activate the phone on Spectrum Mobile (a Verizon MVNO) but their system saw it was locked and said they are unable to activate it with them until the lock is released. In spite of having to wait 60 days, still a really amazing deal on the phone!

What a way to ruin my wife holiday gift! I got my order today and I opened it the phone box was ripped apart and missing! What a mess, Walmart said they can't replace it only refund but I have to wait 10 days.
I've been on chat for an hour with ATT to cancel the line.

Note to self: Next time It's signature confirmation, I'm going to open the package in front of the driver with video.

Oh no, I am so sorry. What carrier did you have? Mine was Lasership. They just left it on the porch without even bothering to ring the doorbell for signature. We were all inside the house at the time.
