Counterintuitively, she's more likely to end up in the emergency because of a dull knife more than she is from a sharp knife.

These are great if you are comfortable sharpening properly on a stone (or want to learn on a cheap knife). Somewhat low hardness steel, so if you use them constantly, you'll need to sharpen more often... But they are also easy to sharpen given the low hardness.

I've got it and it is great at sharpening these blades and easy to use as well as pretty damn quick

I wouldn't, but I suppose you could on a cheap knife like this. Pull through sharpeners should definitely not be used on any valuable knives though!

I've had knives like this one from Victorinox for at least 12 years and they are fantastic for the price. Yes you should still plan on sharpening them periodically but they've held up really well. I also prefer plastic handles personally. I know you're not supposed to toss them in a dishwasher but it's nice having the option.
