All current Tracfone , Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile ONLY operates and activates on the Verizon Network exclusively. That's cause Verizon bought all of them. So any new phone will unlock in 60 days from ALL of them.

This has been your PSA.

$262 otd to California. After reading 25 pages, here's my summary:

1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

You don't need to do anything. It should get unlocked after 60 days. Some rare case it didn't get unlocked, go https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/ and give the imei (and the phone number you got) and it will let you "reprocess" the unlock request online, if you still can't get it unlocked, you just call the phone number on that web page and they will unlock it for you. With that said, most time it will get unlocked automatically and you don't need to do anything.

I bought a phone and received it already. I wish to order another one. Can I make it from the same account or is better to make a new account? Thanks!

My cashback expired a couple days ago. But I checked today and the same offers are available again.
Does anyone know how long I it takes for it to show up in chase account? I clicked through the offer but it shows 1% now, not $15.

As long as you clicked on chase offer to add it your account, you would see credit in your transaction in a week or two.

I can confirm that my phone came factory sealed with an 'M' designation indicating it's a new phone, not refurbished/replaced/personalized.

iOS 17.6.1 is loaded out of the box and the phone was SIM locked.
Can you please explain m designation?

Thanks, sending the 'UNLOCK' twice to 611611 worked for me.
That said, i'm seeing an unlock date thats 61 days instead of 60 days.
Oh yeah … one more thing came to mind on this. When your phone plan starts, it counts the day you activate as day 1. Whereas, when typically counting days, people usually start counting on the next day. So in other words, tomorrow is usually considered to be one day away from today … but it's two if you count today also. That also accounts for the fact that many of the phones unlock on day 59 because that is actually the 60th day of service. And when they text you back with the expected unlock date, that's day 61 if you count that first day of the plan. I'm guessing that may be intentional to err on the safe side.

Anyway, I think that may be where the discrepancy comes in. When counting the days, I'm usually lazy and Google "what's 60 days from today" for the baseline that I've used in the past. For instance, 60 days from 11/16/24 is 1/15/25. Probably kind of silly over-analysis given that the promised date isn't always accurate anyway, I suppose. Smilie

You can buy from same account with gives 15 dollars discount on the plan, 30 dollars instead of 45 dollars. I bought second phone from same account for 229 dollars plus tax.

Make sure that you send the UNLOCK text twice … it doesn't always work the first time. If they entered it as a BYOD phone, it would usually return a message something like "Our records indicate you are using your own device".

The unlock policy is sent to everyone who activates a new device and was likely unrelated to your "UNLOCK" text.

Note that you can still probably get the phone unlocked even if it doesn't happen automatically … but that involves dealing with their reps, which can be very hit-or-miss. An automatic unlock just makes things simpler.

Did you actually get a text reply that says "your device is not eligible for unlock" or is that what the web unlock portal said? I don't think I've ever seen anyone mention that as a text reply before. If that's what the web portal says, that's normal because it hasn't been 60 days and it's not eligible for unlock yet.

Are you getting any text replies from 611611? Does it reply if you text FOUR to 611611 (just as a test)? Can you make calls and texts to other phones?

I received the phone today and without thinking I put the sim card in and started to transfer my data from the other phone.
Meanwhile I looked at the small envelope and it asked me to go to total by verizon website. And I did, I put in the IMEI number and it asked me to pay for the first month and I got confused.

Then I went to my order I realized I ordered via straight talk, I then went to straigt talk website , now the activate page read my IMEI number and tells me my line belongs to another network.

After various calls, then i gave up. I logged in to my straight talk website I saw my IMEI number, but when I tried to activate it, it asks me to pay another 45 usd.

I felt I got robbed, should I just return this one and get a full refund? or I lose my 45 already? First time at this site I felt I got robbed.

I know I should have read carefully about the straight talk sign, but then paper work they gave is very confusing.
Literally happened to me. It's gonna suck, legit took me almost 4 hours of taking to various people to fix it. They're gonna tell you you need a pin or to send it back. If they won't listen just ask to speak with someone else/higher up. Even if you get a supposed supervisor, they'll still ask the same thing and won't help. No matter how many times you explain the situation they'll just say the phone should've came with a pin or plan card (it shouldn't) Just stress you have your order number and you paid your month already.

Also I think their customer service is in the Phillipines (based on accent) and a lot of my calls there was so much background noise you won't understand shit. I kid you not, someone sounded like they were in a car. You could hear the motor and they sounded so far away. Most frustrating customer experience I've ever had to deal with.

Yeah, the web portal will say not eligible at this point. If you're not getting a reply to that text, there's no telling what's up with it. I'd try rebooting the phone and try texting UNLOCK to 611611 again. If still no reply, try texting FOUR TO 611611 to see if you get any replies at all from them. If no reply at all, you may want to try again tomorrow. I have seen their systems act flaky for a while sometimes.

Turned mine on last night and got the unlock schedule for 1/15. It's that easy. 1 day isn't going to kill me
