This has been your PSA.
1. Use PayPal to get 7.5% back by logging into your PayPal account and search for promos, select StraightTalk. Will take you directly to StraightTalk site. That's what i did.
2. Chase card has 15% promo but caps at $15 discount, based on other users. I do not have Chase.
3. Purchase iPhone 13 with Silver plan. Must be Silver or higher to get $200 phone discount.
4. Do not select autopay to see PayPal payment option.
5. You can ship to different address if you're gifting it. They just need to understand the terms if they plan to unlock and use elsewhere or just stay with StraightTalk.
6. New phone needs to be activated, through StaightTalk online, for 60-day unlock countdown to begin. Phone does not need to be opened/used.
7. After the 30 plan expires, do not purchase another plan. Use it on WiFi or not at all.
8. After 60 days, phone will automatically unlock for any carrier.
9. Text "UNLOCK" to 611611 to confirm/see countdown.
10. Hope all goes well for us all.

iOS 17.6.1 is loaded out of the box and the phone was SIM locked.

That said, i'm seeing an unlock date thats 61 days instead of 60 days.
Anyway, I think that may be where the discrepancy comes in. When counting the days, I'm usually lazy and Google "what's 60 days from today" for the baseline that I've used in the past. For instance, 60 days from 11/16/24 is 1/15/25. Probably kind of silly over-analysis given that the promised date isn't always accurate anyway, I suppose.

The unlock policy is sent to everyone who activates a new device and was likely unrelated to your "UNLOCK" text.
Note that you can still probably get the phone unlocked even if it doesn't happen automatically … but that involves dealing with their reps, which can be very hit-or-miss. An automatic unlock just makes things simpler.
Are you getting any text replies from 611611? Does it reply if you text FOUR to 611611 (just as a test)? Can you make calls and texts to other phones?
Meanwhile I looked at the small envelope and it asked me to go to total by verizon website. And I did, I put in the IMEI number and it asked me to pay for the first month and I got confused.
Then I went to my order I realized I ordered via straight talk, I then went to straigt talk website , now the activate page read my IMEI number and tells me my line belongs to another network.
After various calls, then i gave up. I logged in to my straight talk website I saw my IMEI number, but when I tried to activate it, it asks me to pay another 45 usd.
I felt I got robbed, should I just return this one and get a full refund? or I lose my 45 already? First time at this site I felt I got robbed.
I know I should have read carefully about the straight talk sign, but then paper work they gave is very confusing.
Also I think their customer service is in the Phillipines (based on accent) and a lot of my calls there was so much background noise you won't understand shit. I kid you not, someone sounded like they were in a car. You could hear the motor and they sounded so far away. Most frustrating customer experience I've ever had to deal with.
