I don't have a costco menbership, so o bought these. I was worried about the spanish labeling and them being old, but they tasted fine and the labeling was in english.

Since you're here and reading, I'll tell you what i'm going to do with them. After taste testing them, which i've done, i'm on to the next thing im going to do with them...I'm going to make a walnut pie... its basically pecan pie, but I don't want to spend the premium that pecans cost, which are going to get even more expensive after Hurricane Helene destroyed so many trees in Georgia and South Carolina. I passed buy one old pecan orchard in SC near Saluda and 75% of the pecan trees were uprooted. So i got two bags and going to vaccum pack some. Anyways Dolly Parton has a recipe for one and she's just great. After that i;m going to put them on vanilla ice cream with chocolate shell. I will not put them in jello or in anything that has the word salad in it... even if Dolly Parton does.

"Production: Mexico produces nearly 110,000 tons of walnuts annually, with Chihuahua producing 54% of the total. Mexico's walnut production is expected to grow to 210,490 metric tons by 2026"

You can easily refrigerate walnuts good up to about 3 months, and freeze them to about a year. I got an 11lb bag on Amazon Vine for free and did just that.

The point I was making is that this amazon stock may or may not be fresh.

Be aware that food is non-refundable at Amazon. I bought Kirkland Walnut at Amazon once and a bug flew out when I opened the package. Amazon didn't give a refund because it was food

These pop up on SD a lot.
They were made for the Costco locations in Mexico.
If you have a Costco membership you're better off spending an extra dollar or two and getting a fresher batch there.
There's no issue with them being from Mexico; but you'll likely get a fresher batch if you buy them directly from Costco instead of Amazon.

This same "deal" has been posted 13 times since February of this year. I realize that SD gets an affiliate fee, but this is the regular price and it's overkill.

"very fast" compared to almonds or peanuts, maybe...

regardless, you should be ready to refrigerate a walnut open bag.
i usually dole out a half a pound to an air tight room temp container
and keep the balance of my sack in the fridge to maximize it's shelf live.
