I'm hoping this will be $649-$699 on Black Friday. It's almost identical to the popular Onkyo rz-50 except that you can control individual Hz on the Onkyo but not on the pioneer.

It has in the past, so likely.
I agree, they're very much alike especially since often people say all these AVRs sound the same anyways.
The RZ50 now offers Dirac's DLBC subwoofer integration/correction for $299.
Not sure that's a benefit since often people say there is some unfounded issue(s) with it or just don't think it's required/benefit anyways! 🤷🏻 ♂️

Pop the top and the RZ50 is the same as the LX505 outside of a few input/output options for edge cases (IR and the like). Software wise, they are similar but different in general the RZ50 has a few more config options vs the LX505 and gets THX certification. If the tuning is a deal breaker, likely your better off spending a little more to get a RZ70 or LX805 instead.
For most, the biggest difference is the look of the front and the UI interface (Integra/Onkyo are one style and Pioneer is another).

Not sure what you mean by tuning a deal breaker but if you utilize the preouts on the RZ50/LX505 there isn't much more added on the RZ70/LX805 for the cost difference imo.

You correctly identify that there is an issue w/the RZ50 DLBM/DLBC firmware but then you go and use the word "unfounded" (what's your agenda?)!
The issue was discovered by an AVS member and was repeated and confirmed by gregr, who is an industry insider and used to write for home theater publications and very active in the RZ50 owner's thread: https://www.avsforum.com/posts/63648457/
Your continued casting of shade on anything other than the Denon 3800 and A1 Evo combination is not appreciated by ANY forum community (Slickdeals, AVS, etc.)!

That's pretty funny coming for the guy that for months claimed to have READ on the same site that this wasn't even possible because of some "bug" then it was some "hardware" then some "firmware" issue!! 🤣
I guess if you keep throwing "shade" something will finally stick and then you can claim you "predicted" it! 🤣
Hmm you must have selective reading since there have plenty of people even in here and AVS has its own forum of plenty of people finding A1EVO extremely beneficial( hmmm agenda?) !! 🤔 https://www.avsforum.com/threads/...8/#replies
Instead of claiming to speak for everyone, how about you tell us what it is that you don't "appreciate" about A1EVO?

If not in a hurry, might be worth the wait for holiday sales coming soon.

$2k isn't a little more over $799/$650 imo.
