Once the phone is delivered you need to activate the device , at which point the number port in process will begin . By default the auto refill is disabled in account , but it won't hurt to check and confirm . Once 30 days service is completed , total wireless will remind you to refill to continue your service , which you can ignore . The device will be unlocked once 60 days is over
I got the phone in the mail today. I ported over a Google Voice number when I bought it, and just activated the phone successfully. Just in case anyone needs some information, here's what I filled out when they asked about the existing carrier I'm using. I don't have the screen up anymore, so I don't remember the exact labels:

Select "Other" for the carrier. I didn't see anything for Google.
The account number is your 10-digit Google Voice number.
For the address, use Google's address:

1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy.
Mountain View, CA 94043

For the pin, you need to have a voicemail pin. If you don't have one:

Go to https://voice.google.com. You might have to be on a computer or access the desktop version of the site.
Go to Settings -> Voicemail -> Call to listen

If this is unchecked, check it and it'll ask you to put in a pin.
If this is already checked, you should see a button to reset the pin if you forgot it.

A couple other notes I wanted to put out there:

There isn't any sort of branding when booting up the phone. I noticed that the A15 from the Straight Talk deal had a splash screen for the carrier when booting.
There wasn't anything branding related until I was going through the setup process. There was a setting for TracFone Wireless Device Pulse terms and conditions. I'm wondering if this screen still shows up once unlocked and is factory reset. Does anyone happen to know?

Overall, it was a pretty smooth process for me. Not bad for a $65 phone.
You dont have to maintain the service beyond the one month which you pay for during the order. Device will be unlocked within 60days of activation, so technically you are paying for the device in the form of Plan payment for a month and then some tax.

Well, the iphone SE is year a older now and things look different compared to what's available now. What I'm saying is phone deals in general were way better values during previous Black Friday sales.Slick Deals threads for some phone deals were hundred of pages long with thousands of posts. Not this year. The Walmart flyer used to be loaded with great deals on everything, TV's etc. I think this points to serious economic troubles coming in retail.
The trend has been going on for over a decade. As each year more and more consumers move to online shopping for deals, retailers have found they don't need to give away the store to bring people in.

The famous iphone SE 2022 walmart deal with +300 thumbs up was from November 2023. It doesn't matter if it is 2023 or 2024 but the iphone SE 2022 is just a bad phone no matter what year. Anybody who says the 4.7" display is good size and the battery is good is lying. Unusable! I bought the Samsung Galaxy A54 from Metro for like $50 phone + $40 plan (146 thumbs up) and that is way better than the iphone se 2022. I purchased that 6 months before the iphone se 2022 deal.

The Samsung Galaxy A35 and Motorola Edge 2024 are way better than the iphone se 2022 ($90 deal). They are even cheaper. I wasted my money on it. Processor and camera are good but the cons are huge! Screen size is tough to enjoy.

the SE 3rd gen will still be running great years from now. I fired up my old 5S that launched in 2013 and this thing still works great pulling LTE/4G and apps working too like WhatsApp, GV, a few others. It's very small/compact and makes a great travel spare. I'll use it for hiking or kayaking if my SE gets damaged. Apple hardware ard support is next level up. That said my every day phone has been the Pixel 6a and Samsung A54, both excellent.

I'm hoping someone can help me out with phone activation.
So i bought the phone and used my Google Voice number on the website when it asked me what phone number i'd like to port in.
When I try to activate the phone on TotalVerizon.com it says i need to put in my existing carrier, but google voice is not listed. I can select Other, but then it asks for an account number. Anyone run into this issue and know what to do?
Edit: Is this the $3 "unlock" feature in Google Voice?

I have both Pixel 6a and Samsung Galaxy A54 too. I went from Pixel 6a to A54. I dig how optimized and powerful the pixel 6a is. It feels comfortable too because it is small. My A54 is my dailydriver though. I tried to use my SE 2022 regularly but can't as I definitely enjoyed my Pixel and Samsung more. I definitely think I could use Edge 2024 or Stylus 2024 but I really dig my A54 so I never got an Edge 2024 or Stylus 2024.

* I uploaded my A54 text messages back to my Pixel 6a and I am going to the Pixel 6a again with its Android 15. I want to see if anything has been improved and new worthy features. Try something different I guess but I am in the Samsung ecosystem with my Samsung tablet, Samsung Galaxy buds+, Galaxy watch 3 (don't use much)
and galaxy smarttag so I wouldn't be surprised if I go back to Samsung.

I ordered the phone yesterday with the required plan to get the discount and also received the email confirmation with the order number from them. Today I called the customer service to inquire about the order status and then when I asked about the unlock policy, the customer rep mentioned clear that the phone has to be active on a service plan for the 60 days. Then only the phone will be unlocked. I did clearly ask one more time that if I pay only for first month and if I don't renew the plan for the second month they said it won't be unlocked. So looks like I need to pay for the second month also and the lowest available plan is $30 per month plus taxes and fee. So we won't get this phone unlocked just for one month paying. But the comments here I see says just pay for one month and cancel it and the phone will be automatically unlocked after 60 days.
Also, I asked about how to cancel the order and then the customer rep told that there is no cancellation option. The only option is to deny the delivery.
I'm really worried now to spend money for the second month also to get it unlocked.

Any thoughts?

Support says that because they want your $.

It's been confirmed hundreds of times in every SD thread for 3 years (when VZ bought the Tracfone brands & unlock policy changed) - but if you prefer to pay for 2 months when you don't have to that's your choice.

Just read any of the many threads on SD for Total Wireless, Straight Talk, or Tracfone (different divisions of same company owned by Verizon), all have same unlock policy and it's usually one of the first things mentioned in every thread.

Read the official Tracfone unlock policy

https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/home

For all cellphones Activated with TracFone on the T-Mobile or AT&T networks on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked upon customer request after twelve (12) months of active TracFone service.

For all cellphones Activated with TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically, sixty (60) days after Activation.

Notice the difference between phones activated on T-Mobile/AT&T vs Verizon.

On T-mobile/AT&T, it says 12 months of active service required.

For Verizon, it only says 60 days after activation. It does not mention anything about active service.

I believe all new Tracfones are now activated on the Verizon network only.
