Weird trade-in deal at Best Buy. iPhone 12 64gb is $270 trade-in value vs iPhone 13 128gb @ $235.

At Google store, iPhone 12 is $240 and 13 is $320 for the same.

Buy a color (Porcelain or Peony) that is discounted on Amazon for ~$550. Then search for the button to price match on the Google Store. Trade in was $540 for the Pixel 7 Pro. You still have to pay tax on the full amount, so it's definitely not $0.

When returning the trade-in phone do you guys normally power it off before sending it back or leave it on?

I turn it off so it'll arrive with power and can be turned on when it's assessed. Otherwise I'd assume it'll die in transit and then it may show no signs of life when they test it.
