You are forgetting this is an iPhone which never goes on sale, then 40% or more off is a steal.
Yes, as long as you believe that iPhone 15 Pro 128GB is a $900 phone.

Yeah it's definitely not cheap or value for money kind of thing but unfortunately everyone wants one.

What was your payoff amount for the phone? Total out of pocket?
For a 15 Pro 128GB I paid $60-something sales tax to Walmart. I paid $899 to AT&T to pay off the installment plan and I will owe them a partial month of service (should be less than $15, I hope) and possibly a $35 activation fee, won't know until they finalize the bill. I hope to get a $450 Walmart GC in 3 weeks. So about $500 + tax, if you consider the GC close to cash value. Had I been able to cancel within 3 days, it could have been more like $460 + tax.

I don't see how your math can ever possibly be close to $460 + tax.

Your tax appears to be 6.7% by your own admission ($60 / $899 = 0.067). Let's assume prorated fees $10, no activation fee.

Giftcard value is 95% at best so $427.50. That's if you can use it yourself. If you have to sell it, then it can be worth even less.

So the math in your case works out to $60 + $899 + $10 - $427.50 = $541.50
Or pretax equivalent of $541.50 / 1.067 = $507.50

Not $460 + tax.

I have done this on verizon before. This time verizon is saying I am already a customer due to home internet plan.

Is going with at&t all good? Same process for activation fees and unlock?

I went through almost half of forum and did not find exact process for at&t. Any magic number to pay off?

Yes all phone promo applies to T-Mobile in my store. And yes there is no trade in promo for T-Mobile.
It failed when trying to upgrade my phone with One Military plan. Associate stated that it's Walmart that's blocking the sale, not sure why.

When I said $460 + tax, I meant tax on the full $900 price. You can't really avoid it no matter what discount you get, at least in some states, even if you got the phone for free. So if you divide the post-GC amount by the tax rate you end up with a higher pre-tax price. And I said "if you consider the GC close to cash value". The only difference between your and my calculation is that you consider the GC to be worth $22.50 less, that's your choice, so in that case it would be $482.50 + tax on $900. I can't find the 15 pro for that price anywhere, if you can, please advise.

Oh okay thanks. I thought it was a bonus credit that Walmart was offering for trading in a phone and activating a new phone through them.
I'm assuming they (WM) gets a kickback room selling them. Other authorized sellers.. Best Buy.. target …are doing similar iphone deals.

I am getting the same message. On Verizon account, device is not showing eligible for pay off.
Were you able to pay it off when you tried again? I still cannot do it online, phone, or at the local store.

Why $899? $829+ tax from apple. With target deal with bit more you can get 16 pro from apple unlocked and without all the hoops. You still have to spend that GC at Walmart.

Tried purchasing the Galaxy S24 Ultra through ATT, the service continuously fails to and does not proceed with error. Not sure if they stopped it or there is some technical problem.

Did anyone get denied during their application process? Both my wife and I did this last year in store, 1 phone per person per SSN through Verizon This year, I tried to get another phone through VZ in store but my application was denied. I asked my wife to get it in store through ATT but her application was also denied. She never had ATT service before. I wonder if my address/ssn is blocked. We both have excellent credit What should be my next step? Create a new Walmart account and order online?
Yes. happened to me. Not sure if creating new Walmart account would help, I doubt.
Both Verizon and ATT failed when I tried online, and then, same thing happened today at the store (for myself and my wife as well). After that, I took the T-Mobile route - only available in store. The difference with T-Mobile is that they require 75% down payment. So, I got the 15 Pro Max, 256GB ($829 down payment + $65 tax) and iPhone 15 Pro 128GB ($677 + $54 tax). I'll have to wait 40 days for unlock and will need to pay for the service during that time. I was able to use $500 gift card to make a partial payment for the second phone. Monthly plan for 2 lines is $90 + taxes / fees (essentials saver plan).

So do you have to be a new Verizon customer for this deal with a WM GC? We already have Verizon. I just want to clarify.

Purchased iPhone 16 Pro yesterday (11/29) in store thru VZ and received $300 GC in like 5 mins.
Later in the evening, used bot to pay off my balance
Chatted with customer care to submit the Unlock request
Today (11/30) chatted with VZ customer care to disconnect service
Immediately after disconnecting (within an hour), I received the Unlock request denial email! So looks like I will have to wait for 60 days...
Which city/store?
