That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.
What's next?
Once that cool new device is in your hands, get started on these important next steps.
Trade in your old device
Once your new Pixel 9 Pro ships, you'll have 30 days to send back your current Google GVU6C Pixel 7 5G 128GB White - T-Mobile in good condition to retain your promotional value of $800.00.

Yes, it is 2-year contract basically with fake taxes add-on
There is no such thing to activate the phone technically...
Put your active SIM in, you are really to go
Besides, unless you plan to use the phone on a different carrier or sell it, this is the better deal

I'm on a grandfathered over 55 plan. I am using a Motorola phone that I got during last year's promo. I checked my account and it showed the option to upgrade early. I followed that and I got the XL for $62.40 in taxes and $8.33 per month (no activation fee). I am trading a Samsung S20 FE that I had and I will keep the Motorola as a spare. I talked to customer service and I was told that as long as I keep the line active and do not pay the phones early I will get credited for both phones.
Besides screen size, xl has a bit better battery and also a bit faster wired charging. I'm in the same dilemma. I've had an s22+ for over 2 years now. Great phone, but I've never loved the size. Thinking a regular pxiel 9 pro might be best for me. I find myself using one hand quite often for various tasks and this s22 plus has just always been a bit too big.
If so then that sounds like the clear winner to me over paying $200+ for a screen repair that they may or may not accept....
