Since the phone is "On Us with trade" Via 24 monthly bill credits, then the phone won't be paid off until 2 years later (after 24 monthly bill credits). Meaning you can't Unlock the phone until 2 years from the time the phone has been active on the T-Mobile network on the requesting line.

That's impossible, how can I mail it and have them receive it the next day? They should have an expiration date at least a week or two away, so that I can first receive and activate the new Pixel 9, copy stuff over (if needed), delete all my personal info from the Pixel 6 ("You will remove all Device data and personal information, passwords, security software, or user locks."), then ship it to them and leave time for shipping carrier to get it to them.
So I reluctantly backed out at the final step.

I'm on a grandfathered over 55 plan. I am using a Motorola phone that I got during last year's promo. I checked my account and it showed the option to upgrade early. I followed that and I got the XL for $62.40 in taxes and $8.33 per month (no activation fee). I am trading a Samsung S20 FE that I had and I will keep the Motorola as a spare. I talked to customer service and I was told that as long as I keep the line active and do not pay the phones early I will get credited for both phones.
If so then that sounds like the clear winner to me over paying $200+ for a screen repair that they may or may not accept....
