I'm on simple choice and I qualified. Already traded in two phones. One for a 9 pro xl and one for a regular 9. If you go to the product page and try from there it's gonna keep trying to add a line for the promo. You have to go to the number's profile and select upgrade from there.

It's actually a free line but others are SWAC (Advantage Unlimited) lines on the account. To confirm - online checkout gave me free buds but only $30 for the S9 - T-Force rep said the monthly discount should be applied once orders processes and she would verify on Monday to make sure it was applied correctly. I have it in writing from them so not really too worried... She made it sound like it was a known issue and they were handling it.
How do you contact that T-Force rep? I used chat on the t-mobile website last night and it just disappeared without a trace once it ended, so there's no record of anything for me

If you use the app, it keeps all previous convos. But always screenshot just in case.

No, I don't use that. It's much easier for me to do anything that involves typing on my PC. Maybe I should try the app though. Is it the T-Life app?

Yes it is. There's a chat box icon. Probably best this way for this issue a there's a paper trail to go back to.

They could still charge $70 restocking fee.

Quote from HKSpeed :
After reading the comment following my last post, I reread the contract and placed another order. The contract states:
You have the right to cancel this agreement within 14 days (or more based upon where you made the purchase) of your acceptance and return the equipment in accordance with our return policy. If you exercise this right you will have no payment obligation under this agreement.
Yesterday a T-Mobile rep told me over the phone to re-order, then call back to apply the $800 trade-in promo retroactively. When I receive the 9 Pro XL, I won't open it nor submit my trade-in until I get confirmation of the retroactive $800 trade-in promo. I'll return the phone and keep my trade-in within 14 days if T-Mobile does not honor the $800 trade-in promo.

I figure this method is the only way T-Mobile can retroactively apply the $800 trade-in promo (ID240577) to just those with cancelled orders. Reactivating this promo to re-orders allows anyone (not just cancelled customers) to use it.

That is possible, but I am doubtful as long as I don't open it and return within 14 days. The contract states "see our return policy". Their return policy website states:

You may be required to pay a restocking fee based on the Device Full Retail Price ("FRP") as follows: $70 for devices with a FRP of $600 or more...

I'm betting on "may be." nod My situation isn't a matter of buyer's remorse. T-Mobile has documentation of my situation. I followed the rep's instructions, which other reps are similarly instructing customers to do. Customer service managers must be aware of this fiasco. They must be getting a high volume of calls and chats over this.

I was able to return the Pixel 9 Pro XL without a restocking fee a week ago. I think they don't charge a restocking fee for returns of unopened devices by mail, but you might want to double-check.

I did the same thing as you did. Got it from them in the chat in the app that they would retroactively apply the promo once I receive the device and then placed the order. If it doesn't work and I see no ID240577 promo on my line, I'm just returning it unopened.

According to a T-Mobile customer service agent I spoke with over the phone, they don't charge a restocking fee if the device is returned by mail within 14 days. It's best to give them a call and confirm.

More helpful. They were black, T-Mobile store.
