Why no one offers 45-49 inch ultrawides in Dual 4K 2160 resolution so far?
For productivity for doing work (at say 120 Hz), surely a powerful GPU is not needed, right?
Don't people want to have multiple apps on the monitor, or do 4K video editing, etc? That's where 4K is needed. Is it just me who wants that?

I found some reddit threads discussing this, maybe 2025 we will start to see some. Better hide your wallet though bc they will cost a fortune. Also you'll need a massive GPU to drive it like a 4090 and a small nuclear reactor to power it all

Here what Gemini told me:

You got it! Thanks for providing the full specs for the Monoprice monitor. Let's take another look at the comparison with this new information:
Monoprice Dark Matter 49" Curved Gaming Monitor:
  • 49-inch 32:9 DQHD (5120 x 1440) resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate.1
  • VA panel with Quantum LCD technology for vibrant colors and good contrast.2
  • 1800R curvature.3
  • Adaptive Sync technology for tear-free gaming.4
  • 4ms response time (GtG)5
  • 2 DisplayPort 1.4 and 2 HDMI 2.0 ports.6
  • 1 Year PixelPerfect™ guarantee and 30 Day Money Back Guarantee.7
  • Price: Not specified, needs to be checked on the website.
LG 45GR65DC-B Ultragear Curved Gaming Monitor:
  • 45-Inch 32:9 QHD (5120 x 1440) monitor with a 200Hz refresh rate.
  • 1ms response time (GtG).
  • AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA DisplayHDR 600.8
  • 2 HDMI 2.1 ports, 1 DisplayPort, and 3 USB ports (more connectivity options).
  • Adjustable stand (tilt, height, swivel).
  • Amazon's Choice product with a 4.3 out of 5 star rating.
  • Currently on sale for $549.99.
Here's the updated comparison table:

Key Differences and Considerations:
  • Response Time: The LG has a significantly faster response time (1ms vs 4ms), which is crucial for fast-paced gaming. The Monoprice's 4ms response time is still decent for most games, but you might notice some motion blur in very fast-paced action.
  • Refresh Rate: The LG also boasts a higher refresh rate (200Hz vs 120Hz), providing smoother motion and potentially giving you a competitive edge in games.
  • HDR: The LG supports HDR, which can offer a wider range of colors and better contrast in HDR content.9
  • Connectivity: The LG has more connectivity options, including USB ports.10
  • Stand: The LG offers better ergonomic adjustments with tilt, height, and swivel, while the Monoprice only offers tilt.
  • Price: This is still a crucial factor. If the Monoprice is significantly cheaper, it might be a good value despite having slightly lower specs in some areas.
Which is better?
The LG still appears to have a performance advantage, especially for gaming, due to its faster response time and refresh rate, as well as HDR support. However, the Monoprice might be a good alternative if:
  • Price is a major concern: If the Monoprice is significantly cheaper, it could be a good value proposition.
  • You prioritize color accuracy and contrast: VA panels are known for their strong contrast ratios, and the Quantum LCD technology should enhance color vibrancy.11
  • You need a larger screen: The 49" screen provides more screen real estate than the 45" LG.
Ultimately, the "better" monitor depends on your specific needs and budget. Be sure to check the price on Monoprice and consider your priorities before making a decision.

For Gaming, go with LG, for productivity & working, go with Monoprice. I am planning to connect 2x of these monitors to my Mac Pro and it can't handle that at the native resolution.

Hey, 27 inch 4K is there for productivity,
So why no 45-49 in 4K?
