This one has Mini LED and the other lenovo at MC does not. This one is also 18" vs the 16". However, having owned a Lenovo Legion laptop, the build quality is rock solid. Tough one!

Will there ever come a day where a laptop with this specs weighs 4 lbs or less?
Unless there's leaps and bounds improvement in tech, probably not. If you stick a 4090 mobile in there with no cooling, it'll perform like a 4060 and still weigh more than 4 lbs.

Yes - laptops with this level of performance will eventually be small and light, but by the time that happens, you won't want them because they're "slow."
No - really high performance laptops need more space dedicated not just to the hardware, but also to cooling. Fans, heat pipes, etc. are all big and heavy. The large size of the screen also guarantees that you'll always have some heft.

Legion 7 pro has been the best laptop ive ever owned. My old acer is still okay but quality wise there is zero comparison.

It's happening. many light weight 4070 laptop performs probably better than those older desktop 980ti. In probably 2 years, we should be able to get the current 4090 performance at 4 lb or less laptop.

I bought this last week on this sale. The laptop is massive but runs great. Has a very high quality finish in person, better than the photos IMO. The screen is gorgeous and incredibly bright.

Let me know if you have any questions.

How loud do the fans get when running demanding games? Would regular headphones (without active noise cancellation) be enough to block out the noise?

How long can a laptop be used without a power adapter?

Not long at all. I don't have an exact amount of time, but you really have to think of this thing as a portable desktop lol.

The fans CAN get incredibly loud on 'turbo mode', which essentially maxes out the fans. You may have heard about this if you watch reviews about the laptop.

Fortunately you can just use performance mode which keeps the fans at a reasonable volume while still giving you good gaming performance.

Is it pretty much quiet when it's not in Turbo mode? I just watched a BF YT video that questioned if it was really mini-LED, can you confirm? I really want to pull the trigger on this. I'm typing this on an almost 9-year-old Predator. LOL.
