Upgrading RAM

Looking to upgrade the RAM in a family member's web browsing/email checking PC that has really slowed down performance wise the past few months. I've cleaned the machine up a couple of times recently and made sure that it had no viruses... but it's still slow.
Anyway, the PC was never really fast. It's a cheap Acer Aspire XC-1660G and has an Intel i3-10105 CPU and a single stick of factory 8GB RAM.
I'm no computer guy when it comes to knowing exactly what will work in these things, so was wanting to make sure what RAM I'm looking at will work in this PC.
Looking for something pretty cheap and was wondering if it would be best to go with a single 16GB stick or two 8GB sticks?
Here's some options I was considering (if they will work). Other suggestions are welcome.

Looks like compatible types are:
-DDR4-3200 PC4-25600
-DDR4-2400 PC4-19200
I guess what your best option would be would be dependent what your trying to upgrade to. If cheapest is goal, the best would be to match the speed of the 8gb stick currently installed, purchase a the additional 8 for a total of 16gb.
If you wanted to still go 16GB total but future proof a little bit for possible upgrade to 32GB, then purchase the faster single stick of 16GB.
The biggest thing is don't mix and match whatever you decide to do, this can lead to system instability and possible boot issues. (Not always but possible, save yourself some headache.)
But as far as options out of your possible choices, and sticking with cheapest option to get to 16GB total RAM, you would need to determine the speed of the 8GB stick that is currently installed and match.
If it's 8GB DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 then buy a 8GB stick that is also DDR4-3200 PC4-25600. If it's 8GB DDR4-2400 PC4-19200 then buy an additional 8GB stick that is DDR4-2400 PC4-19200.
Right click taskbar -task manager look at the startup tab not much needs to be enabled.
The RAM I ordered for it should arrive today, so hopefully I can get it installed asap and see if that helps.

Hopefully you can update us on the resulting performance gains

You can probably guess the rest of the story, but let's just say that all it does now is make a high pitched alarm sound. And yes I tried switching back to the old RAM and it still does the same thing.
Oh well, new PC time for sure now.
