need to get a relative a backup voip setup. would this work with a voip box that a phone can plug into?

Yes. I use this as a fail over at my home with an ATT SIM card

so i was looking at the att data plans and they have a prepaid $25/month ($300 prepaid for the year upfront). "AT&T Prepaid data 20GB" would this plan work?

having an ethernet out is pretty huge, as most of these hotspot devices do not, scooped one up just for that

I currently have Tmob $40x2 vet cell phone plan.

What kind of plan do I need for this to work? What can I expect to pay?
