For some reason, this took a little bit of work. I've had two previous accounts that I've been canceled, but I wouldn't give me the offer so I had to use an alternate email address and alternate credit card as well to get the offer to work.

The CEO just let slip on an earnings call that Disney makes more profit on the ad-supported version so the ad-free price was increased to drive people to the ad-supported version.

Does uBlock Origin still work on the Hulu Ads?
Cat and mouse. It will work for a while then hulu will catch on and block it. Then it will work again.... you just never know until you try. I've had the best success using the extension on chrome on a windows pc, Kiwi browser on android is hit or miss

My sub just ended and it wouldn't accept those log in creds. I had an older account which my sub ended a couple of months ago and it wouldn't work. I had to use a use a new account and then when I used paypal they said I wasn't eligible. So I tried my VPN and used a credit card and it worked.

My plan from last year's deal expires in Jan so I guess I will have to wait till it ends before I can sign up for the deal again.
I just created a new google email and was able to use the same credit card to get the deal again.

I know it's subjective, but for someone new to Disney+, what would you recommend as must watches? I glanced over it and have watched most of the marvel movies etc. Just wondering what things are so good there that they are able to charge so much as regular price.
If you're a star wars fan, the Mandalorian is a must watch. If you're into Marvel, Wandavision was pretty decent but Loki was disappointing. All the other Marvel shows are lackluster. Otherwise IMO Disney+ is only worth it if you have kids or you like the original animated Disney/Pixar movies, and don't own them already on Blu-ray

Anyone know how this deal works if you have Hulu live already?

Ty! Was able to get it after deleting my Hulu account since I had already use the promo. You can do that at https://secure.hulu.com/account/privacy. Not sure if there are any concerns in doing so.

I cancelled my debit card and got a new number a week ago specifically for this reason. - ok ok not really, but it's not a bad idea if you only have one card lol

A lot of people having issues with old accounts might be because the Black Friday deal isn't officially available at the regular website yet

OP's link is the early access GMA version like they had last year, before they release it to the main page

Second this. If you like Marvel, Star Wars is a fantastic universe as well with TONS of content. It'll take months to catch up on it all. The TV series are all really good in my opinion. New one coming out beginning of December.

I wonder how they even make enough money with this deal coming out every single year. They have to stop at some point? Those ads must pay a pretty penny.
Making it on the ad revenue. More subscribers on an ad tiered plan = more advertisement dollars.

Since it doesn't appear that I can add this to an existing subscription, if I cancel my subscription, will I be able to activate immediately again using the same account or will I need to create a whole new account?
You'll need a seperate account. Old account had to be inactive for 1month. I've got two accounts I alternate each year.

My Hulu (ads) + D+ (no ads) was a little under $12 with tax - $7 monthly Amex credit.

I got an email a while ago saying the price was increasing, as greedy streaming companies do at least once per year. In late October it went up to $14 with tax - $7 Amex credit. So now I'm paying $7 for Hulu (ads) + D+ (no ads) instead of $5.

This deal would be $3 + tax saving me $4 per month to have D+ with ads. It's a tough decision if it's worth $4 to not have ads on D+ for 1 year.

If you stop using your $7 monthly Amex credit, do you lose the offer or will it stay in your account in case you qualify again in 1 year?
Wondering the same. Also, if there is any addon here that can be added to go over $10. So what I'm looking at is extra $10 for either cinemax or hbo with ads or $11 for starz. And I'd pay about the same for D+ with ads and either of these extras vs D+ with no ads. Decisions, decisions. Smilie

Every year I cancel after about 6 months because the amount of ads discourages watching, and every year I renew to relearn the lesson. They even put ads before movie trailers!

Hulu needs a deal on ad-free memberships, because even $1/month with ads isn't very appealing.
The ads don't bother me at all. I feel like they're reasonable and not too long.
