Trade-in must be from Apple, Google or Samsung; trade-in terms apply. Apple Intelligence is available with Siri and device language set to U.S. English. Some features and languages will be coming over the next year."
In addition you can recieve a $300 Verizon gift card that will appear as a popup during checkout.
Terms: "Get a $300 Verizon e-Gift Card on us, when you complete the smartphone purchase from your cart. You'll be able to redeem a $300 Verizon e-Gift Card in My Verizon or vzw.com/myverizon after placing your order. You must submit for redemption within 60 days of order. Your reward will be sent via email within 8 weeks after receipt and validation of claim to the submitted email address. If service is canceled or device is returned, claim will be invalid. We reserve the right to charge the amount of the Verizon e-Gift Card to your Verizon Wireless account if, within 12 months, service is canceled, price plan changes from an eligible unlimited plan, or the line is connected to a device payment plan regardless of whether the new device is activated. A suspension without billing will add the time you are suspended to your 12 month chargeback window. Add'l terms apply."
Verizon devices auto unlock after 60 days.
Due to repeated questions in the thread here are additional details.
The $300 Verizon GC offer is tied to purchasing a smartphone online. You are eligible to claim this offer for every order transaction regardless if you are placing an order for 1 phone/line or 10 phones/lines.
The $200 Verizon GC offer folks have been receiving via sales chat/phone is a switch promotion. I am not able to find the terms for this offer but in the past this has been an available offer which requires you to port in from a non Verizon carrier that includes the various Verizon prepaids and MNVOs.
To my knowledge these Verizon GC offers have 12 month service terms or you will be charged back "claw back"
There are currently 2 separate iPhone 16 offers.
- the offer in this post which involves the trade in of any Apple, Google, and Samsung device for $1000 in bill credits with new lines
- no trade in required to receive $1000/$820/$640 in bill credits with new lines for the Ultimate/Plus/Welcome plans respectively
When you add the phone to the cart you must choose the right offer otherwise you will not go through the workflow with the step to add a trade in.
In addition if you enter a non Apple, Google, or Samsung device during the trade in you will receive the actual value of the device, including $0 if its older to be recycled,
AND you'll be defaulted to the non trade in promotion.
This is the reason at checkout some people are seeing $10/month or $5/month because they've selected the Welcome or Plus plan respectively and the non trade in offer has been applied.
There have also been a lot of "can I trade in XXX phone?".
The terms state you can trade in ANY Apple, Google, or Samsung phone in any condition. In my experience the any condition is intentionally meant to covered cracked screens and aesthetic damages. The device should turn on and function well enough that the IMEI can be retrieved and have no swelling/damaged battery (for safe handling reasons). Regarding any phone from the 3 manufacturers the process is constrained by the system and the list of devices/imei in its database. Be reasonable and don't expect extremely obscure or foreign region only devices to come up.
You can determine for yourself if a device qualifies for the $1000 by going through the online order process. You will need to enter the IMEI so you must have the device in hand. If you are not getting the $1000 value then you likely have not selected the right offer when adding the phone to the cart or your device is too obscure. I've attached screenshots of 2 devices that have been inquired about (A03 and 5c) showing the $1000 trade in amount.

I have 4 lines(2 Android, 2 iPhone) for family on Fi and would like to switch. My son is on East Coast, coming home on Christmas.
Question - If I sign up for 4 lines, can I activate one of the lines 3 weeks later? Also is it possible to continue using existing Android phones on Verizon or do we have to use the new iPhones?
I would not recommend doing this. If you are adamant about it you can park the number in Google Voice for 90+ days and use it with a new line on the account to get this offer. Obviously that user would have to deal with using GV. I've done this several time previously but it was a poor user experience for my family members so I no longer go this route.

You can choose to use any phone you want. Verizon does not require you to use the phone that was purchased on promotion for the line. It is the Device Payment Plan that's associated for the eligibilty requirement.
With that said US iPhones 14 and above are esim only. You can switch between esim and psim (you should be able to get free psims at corporate stores) via the online portal, app, over the phone, or in store. If you have a psim and your phone is compatible you can easily switch the psim between any phone you want.

They changed it...as they change things all the time - there's probably a newer offer today???
This DOES allow you to go with Unlimited Welcome - I too was like you, and thought it was only for the higher Unlimited Ultimate plan they put you in but it was not...upon further review.
I'm not sure why this thread is not getting more traction - maybe people are Cell Phone Carrier Promotion fatigued at this point.
You just pay the difference above $1k...spread out, over 36 months.

From Google AI:
Unlimited Ultimate - Includes 5G Ultra Wideband access, as well as unlimited talk, text, and data
Unlimited Plus - Includes 5G Ultra Wideband access, and offers streaming quality up to 4K Ultra High Definition on a capable device
5G Ultra Wideband is only available in parts of certain cities.
4 free phones???!
It's confusing AF to keep up with.
I have a kid, taking engineering classes in school - think lots of algebra, calculus, differential equations, etc... and even he get's confused trying to build out a plan.
The marketing geniuses at these Cell Phone companies are smart - VERY smart - they did NOT graduate at the bottom of their classes...or they just have a scam artist mentality to start with (think Bernie Madoff style).
