Not a better deal in the industry. I have 24 of various models on my account, all keeping track of homes/businesses/boats in places from the north east, down to Florida and out to Wyoming. 99 a year and only one or two have ever needed replacement, they are mostly v3's, OG and pan v3's. They also offer MANY more features than even the most expensive in the industry. Not sure I've seen any other system that has so many different ways of setting up rules for how things interact.

The cameras work just fine without cloud service. However this is the cheapest I have seen the pan ever. Good find, In for 2.

Also remember these support 256gb micro sd card.

Anyone know whether these have "Out-of-view" motion detection?

In other words ..... detect motion all around (360 degrees ) even if the camera is not focused where the motion is ....and then automatically pan to the detected area of motion?

Can these be used outdoors?

Since these can pan, do they have a narrower field of view and more detailed video image quality vs the non pan version or do they use the same lens stack?

(ie, 90 deg vs 120 deg field of view over the same amount of 1080p pixels will have more detailed image quality)

According to their website, there is a feature to keep the detected object in the FOV.
https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us...Cam-Pan-v3

No mention if it keeps it centered though.

However, I doubt it has a 360 degree of motion coverage.
From what I read, the motion detection is based on what is in the FOV.
i.e. it looks at diffs of the video frames to detect an object that is moving.

But the question is - will it detect motion that is not in the current FOV of the camera? Does it have motion sensors all around?

A good design would do a continuous sweep through the a customized panning range until it detects motion and locks on.

That would wear it down quicker but these are so cheap, just replace them.

This thing is garbage. Buy it and give it to your enemy.
Explain.

*Seriously, why do people say stuff like this with zero context? Adds zero to the conversation and just makes them look bitter....

Tantrums aside this is the best price I've seen on (2) of the Pans and I love how Costco lets non-members buy with a slight surcharge.

Does this work with Home Assistant and can I connect these to my Synology NAS?

You received a bunch of thumbs downs for this, but there are times that I'd agree with this.

I have owned two of the Pan V3 cams for maybe two years? (Or as long as they've been out). I have experienced frequent disconnects, often requiring the power to be disconnected to restart. I believe there were two recent updates to address this, which seemed to have cured it. I did also add a smart wall plug to these which I used to restart the cams when they lost comms, but I haven't had to use it in 6 months or so.

One gripe still is one of the cams regularly loses the ability to look at video history from the sd card; it's a samsung card. I can reformat the card and it works well for a couple of weeks, then needs to be reformatted again.

I've also run into issues with the cams losing comms when I pan around, but this seems to have been resolved with a 2.4a power supply. Maybe the amp draw exceeded the power supply's capability while panning.
Sounds like you have a bad card. Wyze cams are a bit picky about cards, and I've had a few just go totally bad after having been in a camera for a while. Have you tried a different card?

Four years ago I was a strong advocate for all Wyze products. However since then their product quality and support has been bad. I have these cameras in this link and there are problems with them. The V2, V3 cameras were pretty stable. Don't waste your money, these are usually $45 a piece. Two for $30 why do you think they are cheap.

No, it's optical based motion detection. There's no PIR or Microwave sensor to detect motion outside of what's in the frame.

These are great cheap cameras if you're the only user of them.
Their biggest pitfall is sharing. You can share the cameras with other Wyze users, I.e. family. But their ability to look/search for events and get notifications are terrible.
