This one top step is 26" from the floor and the 2 steps before the top have a depth of 5" so you can stand reasonably stably on all 3 steps. I am 5' 8" and can reach about 9' up standing on the stop step. I also got from HD the Cosco 3 step lite aluminum stepladder. It is double the price, lighter than this gorilla ladder. The top step is 33.5" off the floor and the 2 steps before the top have a depth of 3" so it is less stable standing on these intermediate steps. I can reach to the top of a 10' ceiling but you need something to brace yourself with like a wall when you are at the top. It is meant to be used mainly on the top step, where the platform is 14" deep vs 10" on the gorilla. So unless you really need to reach 10', or plan on standing on the top step a lot, I would recommend the gorilla. Hope this is helpful, the info on the HD site is not

edit: there is a 3rd option. At Costco today, they are selling the Cosco 3 step ladder. It is aluminum steps w//steel tubing so it is about the same weight as the gorilla. $24, so just $4 more than the Gorilla. Top step is 29". The 2 steps before the top step is 7" deep, so stable standing on these steps. Reach is about the same as the Gorllla. Tradeoff is that this Cosco is not quite as stable as the Gorilla because the steps are aluminum vs steel on the Gorilla. The Gorilla is all steel, so doesnt flex as much and feels more stable because it is slightly heavier. So really it is up to you which one is better for you, the $20 Gorilla or the $24 cosco, BTW, the 2 weigh exactly 11 pounds each. The taller Cosco weighs 8 pounds.

Costco currently has the Cosco 3-step stool (item #2323075) in store for $29.99 - $6 instant manuf.. rebate = $24.99. Weight capacity = 250#. Top step is 29" off the ground and is about 14" deep. The bottom and middle step are about 7" deep
Thanks, I edited my earlier post and included more info. BTW, $30 - $6 = $24

I have this ladder. It's definitely useful around the house and folds easily for storage. It's nice and light weight and therefore not super heavy duty but the 225 lb weight limit is fine for me. I highly recommend.

It's pretty good. I've had one for a few years and find the angle steep as compared to some others I've used, I feel like I've almost fallen a couple of times.

I'm NOT getting into it this time, as I was spammed by rabid fools last time, but I have to say that this product has a design flaw in which it can suddenly snap shut and send you directly into the ground. I had to get xrays and my wrists and forearms were both injured for 6 weeks. I had 3 of them and returned all 3 after that. Buyer beware. Talk smack if you must and deny it if you must, but reality is reality.

I purchased two of these from HD a few months ago and I really like them but both units the plastic on the feet has already worn through and the metal scratches what ever I stand on. I have looked and cannot seem to find replacement feet to buy. Does anyone else have this issue and found a solution?

What I noticed is that there was a lot of variation from unit to unit, particularly the safety latch. I went through 6 of these before I found one to my liking. Some the latch was too hard to get to latch, so if you dont latch it, it can snap shut. Some the latches were too loose and too easy to open - same thing. I found one with the latch just right. You may have gotten one where the latch wasnt aligned properly. I am very picky about my ladders and tools because of safety issues.

TLDR: that deal post was from a month ago and hasn't seen activity for weeks, so the new post is fine.

So I have used this gorilla and the $24 Costco Cosco ladder and here are my conclusions:
Depends on your use which is better. First step is the same for both. Second step - the Cosco is better because you can stabilize yourself with the handrail. Third step - the gorilla is better because the gorilla is more stable side to side. But the latch on the Cosco is better designed. The gorilla is more compact, I really dont like standing on the third step with either, Its a toss up which is better for you.

Sold out?Nevermind. In store pickup only. Got 2.
I just found out the same thing but would never order this online anyway. Price includes shipping, making the total ONLY $50-6, or $44. In stock at my local warehouse; not sure when it ends, and they close in 2 hours. Been waiting for hours for a UPS delivery; truck was close 3 hours ago but is going all over except closer to me. Will see if it's there when I can get there. Have one that appears to be closer to 3 feet, heavier and more awkward; will try to get this one too.

If you want your step ladder to look new, buy it in store or do in-store pickup.
I placed an order for delivery for 2 ladders. Both came without any boxes, scratched and dented upon arrival. Tried my luck 2nd time for delivery, same thing. Had to go to a store that has them in stock, return 4 ladders, and walked out with 2 from the store. The ones in the store are inside a bulk box that has like 10 ladders inside barely touching each other, all in pristine conditions.
