Would be nice if they'd also discount the 32gb RAM version which is strangely missing from their site.

Lunar lake doesn't appear to be way better than 7840/8840u. Just slightly efficiency gain. Why bother? $500 get a 32gb 7840u and call it a day

For one, I'm not enthused with the things I'm seeing in reviews about heat levels and fan noise. The 8840u in a couple of youtube reviews and shorts was shown to be not far off from being able to cook eggs.

Feel the same way. Lunar Lake been getting all the hype because their 3D Mark Timespy scores are higher than the Ryzen AI HX 365/370 but then when you compare what actually matters, ie actual in game performance, AMD is still on top by a non trivial margin. Synthetics mean very little.

And then don't even bother to talk about multicore performance where it gets basically destroyed....

First things first, you really shouldn't buy thin and light laptops for gaming or for synthetic benchmark bragging rights.

Also, check the average battery life and heat levels on 8840u laptops again not to mention their average weight. None of them are clocking 15 hours at under 3lbs.

I can't imagine paying 1150 bucks for 16 gigs of ram in this day and age. Being hard limited in that ram means this is basically just a glorified web browser and that ultra 7 is essentially meaningless. I would rather just buy some vivobook/envy with ultra 5/amd that are on sale for half the price at this point. Those have OLED screens too. No amount of "ceraluminum" marketing is going to make this worth the insane premium period.

If only I could find a vivobook with an ultra 5 with a better screen then 1080p 60hz.
