Leno returned to 11:30pm time slot

NBC Shakeup -- Jay Leno Comes Out on Top [tmz.com]

Quote :
We've learned Jay's 10:00 PM show will go on hiatus February 1. After the Olympics, Jay will take back his 11:30 PM time slot. What has not been decided -- whether Jay's show will be a half hour, followed by Conan, or whether Jay's show will be an hour and NBC says sayonara to Mr. O'Brien.

We're told Jay and Conan have both been told of the changes. As for Jay, interestingly, he'll get what he always wanted -- his 11:30 PM time slot.
No words on what will happen to Conan and Fallon... whether they both will get pushed back one hour of if one of them will be fired.

I prefer Leno at 11:30 than 10:00.

What? Leno taking the high road? By stealing Conan's job? LMAO

The reason he is mum is because he knows you can't say shit when you are the offender. He CAN'T say anything. Call me naive but I believe Obrien when he says he wouldn't have done that. Leno has a strong history of backstabbings. laugh out loud
I like your definition of "stealing". You probably say people who download music and movies are stealing it. (I call it illegal copying and can't stand it when people equate it to stealing.)

Leno was offered his old job and took it back. If you're angry about that, be mad at NBC, not Leno. What, you think he should've said, "Nah, I'd rather be unemployed, so why don't you fire me instead?" Get real.

It's my take. I just found it hilarious how you thought Leno was taking the high road. The reason he didn't respond is because no good will come out of this for him. He likes to pretend he is this nice guy next door but he is one conniving dude.

And I seriously doubt he'd be unemployed for long, obviously a very large market for his mediocre jokes.

Did you want him to talk about the weather? They interviewed him to get his thoughts on the fiasco and he gave it. And what did he say? He said he wouldn't have done what Leno did, that's whining?
You can talk about a subject like that WITHOUT sounding like you are a whiny little bitch. It's really not that hard.

Yes, Leno took the high road by not complaining that he got fired from the 10:30 show. He joked about it all the time, like O'Brien did. I don't equate that as complaining. I'm talking about comments like O'Brien made about "I wouldn't have done what he did."

You keep blaming Leno for being offered the job. Blame NBC for firing O'Brien. Your and shhaggy's anger is directed at the wrong target.

During an interview with Conan, Leno congratulated him for taking over the Tonight Show and said all kinds of wonderful things to Conan. Based on that and what's happened since, what do you think of Leno's sense of honor?

That's exactly what he should've said, because he has a contract and would've been paid. He couldn't have been "fired". And in any case, he retired from his spot on TTS voluntarily, and gave someone else the show and wished him well. I think anyone with even 2% integrity could never walk back into that studio and take that show back 8 months later.

You're acting like NBC just randomly made moves here. But they can't do that. These guys have contracts. Leno wasn't just randomly taken off TTS, he retired from the show.

Based off recent posts by the latter, are you really surprised as their comments?

I've decided to just ignore them and move on. They're just anti-Leno trolls.

I don't understand. He got his old show back, what's there to complain about?

This is what Conan said exactly:

He went and took that show back and I think in a similar situation, if roles had been reversed, I know I know me, I wouldn't have done that. If I had surrendered 'The Tonight Show' and handed it over to somebody publicly and wished them well and then six months later. But that's me, you know. Everyone's got their own, you know, way of doing things. [I would have] Done something else, go someplace else. I mean, that's just me.

Doesn't seem like whining to me. He is describing what happened and what he would have done in the same situation. Did Leno take the show back? Yes. Whether you want to believe him is up to you but I just don't see the whining.

I just turned on the tv and it happened to be on NBC< with Leno doing his lame "headlines" bit. It was funny pictures. They were actually funny, except they were all stolen from old failblog posts from months or even years ago. I'd literally already seen every single one of them. Lamo can do original or funny. He can even do neither. But he can't do both.

Keep on hating on him. I also turned it on just in time to watch his headline news and set my DVR to record it since Bill Cosby was on. I watched that episode tonight. HL news was funny as usual, and yeah, some of the "There I Fixed It" pics (which he credited) were ones I've seen on e-mails, but I bet the vast majority were seeing it for the 1st time.

Bill Cosby can still entertain. worship

That Taio Cruz song seemed weird w/o Ludacris.

I'm sure Bill Cosby was hilarious, because he's a funny comedian. I don't think Leno is toxic to the point where he can diminish your talent, I just think he's not funny.

OK, so you don't think Leno is funny and you think he's a back-stabbing SoB. Is that pretty much it? I think he's funny and I don't blame him for taking a job that NBC offered. If my employer offered me a mandatory promotion that would make a more senior coworker expendable but would allow them to fire me if I didn't take the new job, should I feel sorry for my coworker and not take the job? Hell no!

I also enjoyed O'Brien's show when he was on at 12:30, esp. "If they mated", but thought his 11:30 show wasn't as funny as Leno's. And that he now looks like a whiner despite getting a hefty severance package.
