Leno returned to 11:30pm time slot

NBC Shakeup -- Jay Leno Comes Out on Top [tmz.com]

Quote :
We've learned Jay's 10:00 PM show will go on hiatus February 1. After the Olympics, Jay will take back his 11:30 PM time slot. What has not been decided -- whether Jay's show will be a half hour, followed by Conan, or whether Jay's show will be an hour and NBC says sayonara to Mr. O'Brien.

We're told Jay and Conan have both been told of the changes. As for Jay, interestingly, he'll get what he always wanted -- his 11:30 PM time slot.
No words on what will happen to Conan and Fallon... whether they both will get pushed back one hour of if one of them will be fired.

I prefer Leno at 11:30 than 10:00.

No, it's crap. If 95% of people enjoyed smelling shit, it would still smell like shit. Majority support doesn't make it smell like roses. In any case, I think the ratings are more a case of familiarity than actual talent.
Let me get this straight. Your opinions are facts and anyone else's opinions that differ from yours are wrong? Is that an accurate statement?

Accepted? That's hardly the term I would use for shhaggy's comments. More like extremely bitter.

Now that Leno has surpassed Conan's ratings, he has nothing in his arsenal that supports NBC getting rid of Leno anymore. Leno is doing what people like shhaggy don't want- succeeding.

Hell, I haven't watched a single Tonight Show episode since Leno went back on the air. I have watched Colbert and Jon Stewart though, and they're pretty funny. Although I have to admit, I rarely watch them first run, it's usually the re-run the next day when there's nothing on TV at 2pm.

Of course, I'm not surprised that Leno passed Conan. Although I will bet shhaggy will claim it's all due to lead-ins (and I'll be honest, I find that argument crappy, because NBC rarely has good 10pm shows anyway laugh out loud)
Yeah, shhaggy is a Leno hater. There's nothing wrong about being a hater if one acknowledges that, but he's not coming to those terms.

I don't watch a lot of late night talk shows during the Sept. - May period, but I will watch a bit more in the summer when I have more time to watch TV.

It looks pretty accurate to me.
I'll admit I didn't like Conan's show, and often don't find him funny (like the 60 Minutes interview and your video of his performance at Google). Just because I thought Leno was funnier doesn't necessarily make me a horrible person (unless you're shhaggy, of course).

Or course he isn't. It's classic troll mentality. Attack the others with baseless accusations/outlandish comments.

I'll probably watch more over the next 2-3 months, but I dunno.

Leno being woefully unfunny is hardly outlandish. But you're all entitled to your wrong opinions.

I think shhaggy is just insanely jealous of Leno's car collection. And maybe also his chin. laugh out loud When it was Leno at 11:30 and O'Brien at 12:30, I enjoyed both of their shows. I wasn't a hater of either and I don't dislike O'Brien, although I think he got too whiney ever since Leno took back the 11:30 slot. O'Brien got a crapload of $ to sit on his ass for several months (if he wanted to, granted, he's still working doing stand-up performances) and he still wouldn't stop moaning and groaning. He lost a little respect from me for that, but that said, I still wish him luck on his TBS show. I may Hulu his 1st week there (assuming it'll be on there).

Yeah, that's how I feel about Conan too. I used to watch his show somewhat frequently, but ever since he was given $30M+ to leave and sit on his ass, he's become a whiny bitch.

He's now in obscurity on TBS. To be honest, I don't even know what channel that is here.

Even if I knew what channel TBS is for me, I couldn't watch it b/c I don't have cable or satellite TV anymore. Cool

That interview is literally the only comment's he's made (or was allowed to make) since he got the settlement. Are you referring to his jokes? They're jokes! Everyone incorporates real life experiences into their bits. Jay Leno does the same thing. Obama did the same thing at that event with Leno sitting right there!

Yeah, I don't know how people are saying that he's whining. It's part of the act, and it's funny.

Except that it isn't funny if he isn't doing an act. During the 60 Minutes interview, even when he wasn't on stage or anything, it still seemed like he was whining about everything.

Let's see. He got over $30M, to take 8 months off (except he didn't.. he went on tour = more money), and go to a different network.

He's the winner in all of that (until he signed with TBS, then his wallet became the real winner), and yet he still wants to whine about how it wasn't fair and all this.

His show didn't have the ratings necessary. He was cheaper to get rid of than Leno, and less likely to compete with NBC and drop their ratings than Leno. So goes the entertainment biz.

Actually, he made it pretty clear that he DOESN'T feel like he got screwed, and the way he's constantly put it was that 'it just didn't work out'. That interview was ABOUT the situation, was he not supposed to talk about it? He did ONE interview since the buyout and it was ABOUT the situation. How is that "always whining"?

And he didn't "get" $30M, you talk about it like NBC was just nice. They were in breach of contract and he accepted LESS money than he was supposed to get in exchange for letting them change the contract. How did he "get" something? His contract was for more than that. He settled for that, which is why it's called a settlement.

This is too funny. LMAO

Did you want him to talk about the weather? They interviewed him to get his thoughts on the fiasco and he gave it. And what did he say? He said he wouldn't have done what Leno did, that's whining?

O'Brien looks like a whiner b/c he said it were the other way around, he wouldn't pull a Leno and take his old job back. He could've taken the high road, but based on that comment (and other similar ones), he didn't. Leno now looks like he's taken the high road by not responding to O'Brien's comment about how he wouldn't have taken his old job back.

What? Leno taking the high road? By stealing Conan's job? LMAO

The reason he is mum is because he knows you can't say shit when you are the offender. He CAN'T say anything. Call me naive but I believe Obrien when he says he wouldn't have done that. Leno has a strong history of backstabbings. laugh out loud
