NBC Shakeup -- Jay Leno Comes Out on Top [tmz.com]
No words on what will happen to Conan and Fallon... whether they both will get pushed back one hour of if one of them will be fired.
I prefer Leno at 11:30 than 10:00.

We've learned Jay's 10:00 PM show will go on hiatus February 1. After the Olympics, Jay will take back his 11:30 PM time slot. What has not been decided -- whether Jay's show will be a half hour, followed by Conan, or whether Jay's show will be an hour and NBC says sayonara to Mr. O'Brien. We're told Jay and Conan have both been told of the changes. As for Jay, interestingly, he'll get what he always wanted -- his 11:30 PM time slot. |

Now that Leno has surpassed Conan's ratings, he has nothing in his arsenal that supports NBC getting rid of Leno anymore. Leno is doing what people like shhaggy don't want- succeeding.
Hell, I haven't watched a single Tonight Show episode since Leno went back on the air. I have watched Colbert and Jon Stewart though, and they're pretty funny. Although I have to admit, I rarely watch them first run, it's usually the re-run the next day when there's nothing on TV at 2pm.
Of course, I'm not surprised that Leno passed Conan. Although I will bet shhaggy will claim it's all due to lead-ins (and I'll be honest, I find that argument crappy, because NBC rarely has good 10pm shows anyway
I don't watch a lot of late night talk shows during the Sept. - May period, but I will watch a bit more in the summer when I have more time to watch TV.
I'll admit I didn't like Conan's show, and often don't find him funny (like the 60 Minutes interview and your video of his performance at Google). Just because I thought Leno was funnier doesn't necessarily make me a horrible person (unless you're shhaggy, of course).

Or course he isn't. It's classic troll mentality. Attack the others with baseless accusations/outlandish comments.
I'll probably watch more over the next 2-3 months, but I dunno.
He's now in obscurity on TBS. To be honest, I don't even know what channel that is here.

Yea I know he got paid to leave.
Let's see. He got over $30M, to take 8 months off (except he didn't.. he went on tour = more money), and go to a different network.
He's the winner in all of that (until he signed with TBS, then his wallet became the real winner), and yet he still wants to whine about how it wasn't fair and all this.
His show didn't have the ratings necessary. He was cheaper to get rid of than Leno, and less likely to compete with NBC and drop their ratings than Leno. So goes the entertainment biz.

And he didn't "get" $30M, you talk about it like NBC was just nice. They were in breach of contract and he accepted LESS money than he was supposed to get in exchange for letting them change the contract. How did he "get" something? His contract was for more than that. He settled for that, which is why it's called a settlement.

Did you want him to talk about the weather? They interviewed him to get his thoughts on the fiasco and he gave it. And what did he say? He said he wouldn't have done what Leno did, that's whining?

The reason he is mum is because he knows you can't say shit when you are the offender. He CAN'T say anything. Call me naive but I believe Obrien when he says he wouldn't have done that. Leno has a strong history of backstabbings.
