Funny you mention La Colombe. I loved their triple draft latte, but after Chobani bought them they changed the recipe and it's not nearly as good anymore. Weird aftertaste to them too. Stopped buying them.

If the caffeine doesn't give you some wings, the sugar bomb will kick in adding some lift. Just be aware that there's no free lunch and you will crash later. I'll pass for something healthier like Macha tea and a dab of honey.

I seriously doubt that the Chobani acquisition changed anything. Too recent, and simply a fabricated idea.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but here's some evidence dating back to 2015 of Chobani having a stake in La Colombe. (NYTimes [nytimes.com]) (Roast Magazine [dailycoffeenews.com])

The full acquisition occurred in December 2023 (Chobani [chobani.com]).

The Draft Latte was relaunched with a new formulation under their "World's Frothiest Latte" campaign in April 2024. (prnewswire [prnewswire.com]).

This contains statements such as:
Quote :
Fueled by Chobani's expertise, the exceptionally frothy and creamy Draft Latte disrupts the ready-to-drink coffee category with coffeehouse quality for all

the first product launched under Chobani leadership
Quote :
"We're excited to bring La Colombe's 30 years of coffee credibility and mad science together with Chobani's breakthrough dairy expertise, which maximizes the natural sweetness already found in milk," says Chobani's Chief Innovation Officer, Niel Sandfort. "We have created a perfectly balanced, velvety draft latte with just the right amount of body. It has half the amount of sugar and no artificial sweeteners. This is unparalleled in today's ready-to-drink offering."

In December 2023, when Chobani took over La Colombe and bought out Ulukaya's personal stake, Ulukaya said that La Colombe would continue to operate as a separate brand under the Chobani umbrella.

His first move: relaunching the canned lattes. Ulukaya wanted to tap into the magic that turned him into a fan of the brand more than a decade ago. The new product takes advantage of Chobani's research-and-development capabilities, with a recipe that has about half the sugar of the original and that replicates the foaming effect of draft coffee.

Lots of evidence there, definitely believe you. Since taste is subjective, it's possible that Chobani improved the overall product quality with health and texture tradeoffs.
