I have two of these. They are really good. I don't even use my cord saw anymore. With a 4 AH battery you can rip dozens of cuts on plywood and eats right through 2x4 2x6 treated.

The only down side is it is only 6.5" and not 7.25".

I live on a farm and I am always doing outdoor projects. Just used it last weekend on 100' of wood fence.

Get a good diablo blade and it works great!

I have an older version of this saw (perhaps its still the same saw as it looks nearly identical) and its pretty weak. It can get pinched when cutting a 2x4 if its not supported.

Yea, I got no problem with cordless tools but I don't think a circular saw on the cheaper side is something I want to roll the dice on

Yeah I think the quality of the blade does so much lifting here. If you're willing to go further than Diablo, get a Freud blade. (It's the same company but higher quality product)

I have the older version of this saw and it never let me down. Only thing I dislike about mine is the blade is on the opposite side of the saw than this one. As a right hander I like to look at the blade. So this would be nicer for us right handers

I get that with maybe a Hypertough from Walmart but Kobalt 24v cordless tools are well made.

I've also had the older version of this saw for some years and the only time it got pinched was when I tried to rip a pressure treated 2x4 at a 45 degree angle, with the stock blade.

As others have said, pair this with a quality blade and the 4Ah battery and it's more than adequate for your average DIYer.

I wonder if you used an adapter to make a DeWalt 20 volt battery fit it would it power the 24v tool ?

This is an excellent little saw. It's not a corded worm drive, so no, it's not going to rip through wood that's binding on the blade while you cut it. Otherwise, it has been very dependable, has a deeper cut than the older saws from Bosch n DeWalt, and a dust port to attach a vacuum if you're cutting cement board. I paid this much for two batteries recently and would've been much happier to get this combo instead. The kobalt 24v tools are very good. I also have the big impact wrench and sliding compound miter saw. The saw is awesome.

Was looking for cordless tools to replace my corded.
DIY homeowner. Snagged this along with the 4 tool bundle + 2 free tools. So ended up with 7 tools & 2 4ah batteries (2 chargers) all for less than $330.00
Good deal IMO!

I'll also vouch for this saw. I've had very good luck with mine, even with the standard blade that comes with it. I had a pocket door that crapped out on me due to being composite materials so I found a very old oak door that was too large. I ripped it on all 4 sides to make it even so that it would fit the frame it was going into and I had zero issues with this saw. I have had nothing but good luck with all of my Kobalt 24v Tools. I have a 40v hedge trimmer that seems to me to be of significantly lower quality, but every 24v tool I have has been great. Only one I think needs some refinement is the 24v lawn mower. It's a 3 star in my opinion for its current design but could easily be 5 stars with some minor adjustments.

I just bought the $249 6-tool bundle at Lowe's and had included this 6" circular saw as one of my chosen 2 free tools, and I had also bought an extra 4AH battery for the sale price of $40….

I'm going to return the extra unopened battery, exchange this free circular saw for a different free tool since it's unopened, and I bought this kit to get the saw and an extra battery, since this is a way better deal and will get me another battery and charger!

Thanks for posting OP. I've now got 7x of the 24v Max tools, 2x 4AH batteries and 2x chargers - and there's been countless times I've needed 5 of these tools and never had them, and also upgraded my dying Craftsman cheapy 20v screw gun and reciprocating saw (both were so cheap)…. Very happy with the overall cost for some mid-grade tools (all I need).

I wish I had added either one or two of the 2 ah batteries to my order. At $19.99 each the 2ah batteries are light and low profile and work great on low draw tools like the drill driver. Missed free to my door shipping, but hopefully can run by my local store
