Almost all tools are built for right handed people. There are very few tools, but some are out there, designed for lefties. They will just tell you to use your right hand.

I'm right handed, but the negative review on the product page mentioned this saw is for left handers, so wasn't sure for this. From product description:"The saw features a left hand blade configuration for clear line of sight to the blade, maximizing the user's productivity and accuracy." I need a saw and haven't bought one before, so was curious

Caveat: I am not an expert.

But anytime I've been researching circ saws, this seems to be something of a "religious war" that will never have any end.

Regardless of whether you are left- or right-handed, seems like each will have its pros and cons. If the blade is on the 'inside' (for example, blade-left for a right-handed user) then the spinning blade is closer to you and you might more easily stick your fingers into it if you're lifting the guard before a cut (vs. having to reach over and come down from the top on the other side). On the other hand, as pointed out in the product lit, you can see the cut line more easily.

I think both arguments have merit so I just stopped caring. IMHO just get a saw that checks all the other boxes for you (size, RPM, power, price, battery platform, ease of adjustability, etc.).

I mean with the $79 deal and $99 deal this is just an ok deal.

I have it and it works, but it's not a crazy deal.

for some odd reason most 6 1/2 circ saws have their blade on the left-hand side. I'm a lefty and I prefer this since the blade is away from me 😅 Righties also prefer this as the blade aligns with their dominant eye (right).
most 7 1/4 circ saw have their blade on the right-hand side, with the exception of worm drive circ saws.
this is what 've noticed...maybe it has changed

The orientation idea is that the majority of the saws weight is shifted onto the material being cut, instead of the material falling off.

A few days ago, $20 more get you an additional 2Ah battery and a nice tool box. This is still a good nice but not as hot. Even today, the deal at $99 is still better if you want the tool box.

Problem with that deal is none of the stores had it because they were all sold out during previous deals

Granted there are sales for batteries, but 4ah battery and charger plus the circular saw for $60 is a pretty crazy deal. Regular price for 2 4ah batteries without a charger is $110. Regular price for the circular saw (tool only) is $129.00. What would it take for this to be a crazy deal? I feel like the bang/buck here is pretty crazy.

I paired this deal with that $80 kit deal (4Ah, 2Ah, charger, box, choice of tool) from earlier this week. As my entrance into the Kobalt line, I really can't complain. I got a circular saw, reciprocating saw, and two 4Ah batteries to swap between for $140. Hell, with the second charger I can even charge them at the same time if I need to. The 2Ah battery and box are more incidental for my purposes, but I expect I'll put them to good use. It sure beats paying more for the entry level DeWalt saws I was considering, being already in that platform.
