But slow charging better for battery life. Not that most people loose or throw them out before they reach EOL

i think the problem is the batteries which the reviewer uses Amazon rechargeable batteries. The problem with Amazon batteries is they differ in sizes and width, both aa and aaa.

Interesting, I have a few of the white ones, but I think those were actually for enloope. For $4 this is worth a shot. I assume this will at least charge any Amazon Basics rechargeable battery.

I've seen similar variations of that charger across the battery brands. It's not a fast charger. Once you use a fast one, it's hard to go back.

I was told batteries should be charged a 1/2 C in order for the charger to detect peak. If not the batteries just stay on the charger and cook which damages the batteries. This charger can't charge at 1/2 C.

I know a slow timed charge is safe and is good to do occasionally. Both of my chargers can do either.

I bought my chargers years ago. They cost $50 each. I have a BT-C3400 and a maha powerex MH-C9000. The former can also charge lithium batteries.

It can do various combos of batteries and automatically trickle charges when full instead of overheating your battery.
