It's fine. Like the biggest issue is how massive this thing is packed but I camped with it and a blanket on top and was low 30s and was fine. Just huge...

I haven't bought a sleeping bag in many many years. Thoughts on these versus more expensive options?
I'm in Houston so it doesn't get too cold. Our current sleeping bags were 20 plus years old. I think they're fine for car camping and such.
there are also a cool and warming liner $10 $15 you could add to it.

Instead of a $15 warming liner, it would be cheaper to buy both of the sizes and fit the small bag inside of the larger bag

Someone might benefit from the comment that a "mummy" sleeping bag is designed to have as little space as possible wasted inside of the bag. Your arms will be touching your body and your knees will be touching. This position keeps your body heat in. If you are a more casual camper, you might not like this type of sleeping bag.

I don't have one of these, but finally just upgraded to a more expensive bag. I had started out with an old coleman synthetic, and then moved to a cheap chinese down bag.
The cheap chinese down bag packed tiny, like size of a thermos tiny when in a compression sack. You store it like a normal sleeping bag and it expands. This is the beauty of down. Its also super lightweight. It kept me warm with a sleeping pad down to about 50. The coleman was huge, it didn't compress at all, was super hard to get in its stock large bag, but would keep me warm down to about 45. it was also probably 5x heavier.
I just picked up a mountain hardware down 650 fill that that is rated down to 15 degree's. Its a bit tight as a mummy for me, but its super light weight, water resistant, and packs quite small. My coleman was probably $30 20 years ago, my chinese bags were I think $70 and $80 quite a few years ago when down bags were normally like $400.
I got my mountain hardware last years version on sale for $73 which is a steal. This years bishop pass retail price is $285.
Its a middle of the road brand, but I'm happy to finally have a good sleeping bag I can count on in much colder weather. I usually hammock camp with an underquilt and don't tend to need a heavy sleeping bag but its nice to have the option. I usually camp a lot so for me I enjoy having good set of camping gear to be able to cover more scenarios.
If your car camping however, synthetic can be totally fine. I tend to do motorcycle camping and have to be space conscious, similar to back packing. For or RV/trailer camping, synthetic is perfectly fine for the price.
