Anyone wanting to "JAILBREAK" this don't spend all your time trying to input ADB code, you can if that's your thing but I would rather get to using this right away, download POJECTIVY LAUNCHER (https://play.google.com/store/app...n_US&pli=1). It does all the programming in the background so you don't have to. It's FREEMIUM Launcher available directly from the play store but well worth the $7-8 bucks to change wallpaper and extra features. It already makes the launcher the default screen when hitting the home button for free using accessibility permissions. If you want to take it to another level also get Button Mapper and change the buttons on the remote to open something else. Don't forget to click BUILD VERSION 5 times... Located in system > about to activate developer settings. Notable addons and mentions are obviously DOWNLOADER, MOONLIGHT REMOTE GAME STREAMING from PC, CX EXPLORER to sideload APKS via network, SMARtTUBE - zero add youtube app (28544 downloader code), STREMIO (with Premiumize. STAY AWAY from Real-debrid, they turned on their clients), Fosmon Mini Bluetooth Keyboard, & the TRENDnet 2.5G USB-C to RJ-45 Ethernet Adapter (Built in ethernet only does 100mb/s.) I bought this yesterday. I highly recommend the Launcher "Projectivy Launcher" to replace the default launcher. Removes all the ads and let's you customize your screen as much or as little as you want. Removes all the bloat from Google TV. You can download it from the app store.
10/100 is a reasonable cost-saving measure for a streaming device. 4K streaming only requires about 15-20 Mbps. 100 Mbps is plenty for streaming media over the internet or even over a LAN. The only time you'd get the benefits of gigabit is if you're downloading/transferring large files, which device isn't really designed to do and most people don't do often on their streaming devices.

question: Can I use the built-in google speaker in this device as a bluetooth speaker for this device.
What I would plan to do is hook this up the 27 inch monitor (no built-in speakers), and use blue tooth to use this device as movie speaker/music speaker in a pinch. I do have hdtv's tv, just wondering if I just let person use this onn device with my 27 inch monitor would could I get the Onn device to play sound for the movies playing on it.

No, the speaker only works as google replies. ALL AUDIO MUSIC comes out through HDMI.
STAY AWAY FROM FIRESTICKS. Amazon has made it very clear they don't want you touching the OS because they like showing you ads. You will be in an endless rooting / debloating battle, even when blocking their servers and updater app. Just not worth it.
This has such good reviews, but right out of the box, there's a noticeable audio lag on all apps. Has anyone else noticed that? Can't find anyone else complaining, about it, which is driving me mad. Didn't happen with my previous streaming box.
Did you change the signal flow at all? If you split the signal or run it through one box to another like TV then AV receiver, you could get some issues. There is a setting on your TV that can help you adjust for delay, but it typically only goes one direction.
that's what I use to adjust settings. I forget which streaming service I'm seeing issues on through my PS4 app, but it's awful and it happens more towards then end. guessing the commercial breaks cause a bug.

Have you paid the extra $2.99/month for the privilege of getting Vision and Atmos? You have to pay r tra now, such a stupid move. I get showing ads. I don't get taking away Atmos from paying Prine members. Never buying movies from them again.
It's not like this is unique to prime, they've just jumped on that consumer screwing trash wagon. Netflix started it after multiple price hikes, you literally have to pay the top tier price to get this 'privilege' regardless of whether you need the extra 'streams' or not, another joke. Disney+ then did it by it only being in the premium plan. Then Amazon said, screw the customers, we can get more money for this.
Great player, great price. Word of caution: this only supports atmos for DTS encodings, not TrueHD. No real mention of this, so it's pretty much a dealbreaker for me. Can't beliece the 2019 Shield is still the best option for audiophiles.
I don't follow, i mean I follow, but atmos is it's own encoding. DTS Master and TrueHD are their own encodings, what does Atmos have to do with that?
i'm ok with my firestick and cube performance, but i'm not ok with the increasing

as i powered up the device and it came up with the cursor right on ordering something.
not to mention that amazon now knows and sells my viewing habits.
not that i want google to have that info instead.
accidentally ordering a video is an easy fix, just have it require a code / passkey
