Anyone wanting to "JAILBREAK" this don't spend all your time trying to input ADB code, you can if that's your thing but I would rather get to using this right away, download POJECTIVY LAUNCHER (https://play.google.com/store/app...n_US&pli=1). It does all the programming in the background so you don't have to. It's FREEMIUM Launcher available directly from the play store but well worth the $7-8 bucks to change wallpaper and extra features. It already makes the launcher the default screen when hitting the home button for free using accessibility permissions. If you want to take it to another level also get Button Mapper and change the buttons on the remote to open something else. Don't forget to click BUILD VERSION 5 times... Located in system > about to activate developer settings. Notable addons and mentions are obviously DOWNLOADER, MOONLIGHT REMOTE GAME STREAMING from PC, CX EXPLORER to sideload APKS via network, SMARtTUBE - zero add youtube app (28544 downloader code), STREMIO (with Premiumize. STAY AWAY from Real-debrid, they turned on their clients), Fosmon Mini Bluetooth Keyboard, & the TRENDnet 2.5G USB-C to RJ-45 Ethernet Adapter (Built in ethernet only does 100mb/s.) I have EVERY STREAMER from apple tv to nvidia shield (TUBE & PRO), roku, firesticks, and chromecasts.. This IS the best bang for buck android tv at this price as of 12/2024. I bought this yesterday. I highly recommend the Launcher "Projectivy Launcher" to replace the default launcher. Removes all the ads and let's you customize your screen as much or as little as you want. Removes all the bloat from Google TV. You can download it from the app store.

10/100 is a reasonable cost-saving measure for a streaming device. 4K streaming only requires about 15-20 Mbps. 100 Mbps is plenty for streaming media over the internet or even over a LAN. The only time you'd get the benefits of gigabit is if you're downloading/transferring large files, which device isn't really designed to do and most people don't do often on their streaming devices.

I'm pretty sure with 2gb of ram that new model will be a replacement for the $20 Onn. Google TV box not this one

The link does say "ONN 4K Plus" and not "Pro Plus" as the other guy mentioned so it is likely the next $20 model. And for anyone who's been looking into the recommended launcher, it's called PROJECTIVY not Projectivity.

Bought this and having issues with it. I got power and volume set to CEC, commands are sometimes delayed or multiplied. So when I press power everything turns off, then back on after 20 seconds or so. Some apps will stop playback on their own. Not sure why people love this thing, it's just a box with android slapped on it, nothing is tailored to it and it doesn't get the kind of support the fire tv does. I'm switching back to my fire cube v2 as it's more reliable and has more features.

I blame Google TV in general which is why they opened a Google TV Advisor community to help make the OS better. Even the official hardware has issues with the OS

Can you please explain why you mention to avoid real debrid? Sorry did not understand what you meant by turn on their clients

ethernet port and .32gb of storage make this a worthwhile upgrade on there own . light on the bloat ware and easy to side load apps .

Yes, I see the offer on the side of my home page. I did not activate it yet as I have an ongoing Apple TV promotion; hopefully, there is no time limit and I can use it later.

I have been having problems side loading. Extracted latest APKs from the previous version Onn4K box, tried to side load Asphalt 8 (no longer officially supported on Google TV) and got non-descriptive "App Not Installed" error. All other APKS had same results. I have even activated Developer just in case. Finally tried the most generic Speedtest APK, same error. Hopefully it's something simple and user-error....

I haven't had any issues sideloading apks (through adb or file explorer installed on the device). Maybe it's the method you're using?
