Last time this monitor was at this price it hit 154 upvotes which is VERY good for a monitor.

For console gaming, RTINGS gave it a 7.1/10 for console gaming and wrote... [rtings.com]
The Dell G2724D is decent for console gaming. Although it lacks HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and can't take full advantage of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, it still supports most signals with both consoles, including VRR which reduces screen tearing. It has low input lag that makes gaming feel responsive, and motion looks sharp thanks to its fast response time, but there's still some motion blur. Unfortunately, games don't look life-like and realistic as the monitor has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks look gray, and colors aren't vivid, especially in HDR.

They said about the and gave it a 7.4/10 for console gaming... [rtings.com]
The AOC Q27G3XMN is decent for console gaming. Although it can't take full advantage of the Xbox Series X|S or the PS5 due to its 1440p resolution and lack of HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, it still provides a great gaming experience. It has a fast response time and low input lag at 120Hz and 60Hz, providing a smooth feel. It also offers good picture quality whether you're gaming in HDR or SDR, thanks to its high contrast for deep blacks, and it gets bright enough to fight glare in well-lit rooms.
I'm in analysis paralysis over these monitors. Anyone have opinions between this Dell, the HP Omen 27 (https://a.co/d/f1Hq2Xg), and the LG UltraGear (https://www.ebay.com/itm/387714587633 )? For PC gaming.
The general consensus is that the G2725D has a worse panel. I'd go 2724 between the two.

Even the full price is pretty cheap for these specs, is there any obvious con?

Anyone familiar with gaming monitors can help me out?

This one seems to be a favorite for many at this price point. However, for $100 more, would the AOC Q27G3XMN ( Mini LED VA ) be worth the extra $$??
Gaming on Series X btw.

G2725D is same price on Amazon. 180Hz. But it only tilts. No swivel/pivot/height adjustability.
Any other differences other than the appearance?

Just got mine. It looks like the box was a return and just shipped out to someone else. Buy with caution as I am not the only one that had this happen. It definitely looks like used and returned.

I purchased one of these on sale like 2 weeks ago and absolutely love it! My 1080p 240hz Predator was doing weird stuff and I decided to go with this as a replacement. I think I'm going to get two more to replace my other 1080p monitors.

I've owned this monitor for almost 5 years now and it's worked flawlessly for my 3080.

What I like about this compared to the others even years ago. The IPS display is good! For school, work, games the display is honestly better than most $500-700 monitors I've used.

G sync works flawlessly and the ghosting is GOOD. It's easily mountable and I loved this monitor so much I even bought the 1080p version of the same model for a clean look for dual display setup.

If you're interested in 1440P gaming and can power it, I'd recommended this monitor at $300 and I recommend this at $150. Absolute steal.

In for another one as a backup yolo

I have what I believe is the predecessor to this one, the 2721DGF. Anyone know how the two compare? I've been thinking about getting two more to replace my old monitors in my triple monitor setup.

Tempted, my video card can't handle 1440 gaming right now. I guess I can run it at 1080 right now until I get a upgrade later?

If I can only game at 1080p currently, would this still look okay? Hoping to upgrade from rtx 3060 at some point.

According to RTINGS -

The Dell G2724D is a newer monitor than the Dell S2721DGF, and they have many of the same features. They each have a 1440p resolution and 165Hz refresh rate, but the G2724D is an improvement in most areas. This is because the G2724D has a faster response time across its entire refresh rate range, and it has better compatibility with consoles. It can downscale 4k images, which the S2721DGF can't do, and it even supports VRR with the PS5. The G2724D also offers better picture quality with higher peak brightness and improved color accuracy. On the other hand, the S2721DGF has a USB hub, which the G2724D doesn't have.
